I finally started in my Monsterpack world with 1.6.4

i noticed lots of changes in ic2 up to now. is it true that takes so much copper to make the cabel now`?
4 copper for 2 copper cable in the end with out a forge hammer that i just found out about.

seems to be hard since it was 3 copper for i belive 6 copper

You're going to want to use whatever machine makes plates and extrudes wires if you want the same efficiency. I forget the name since I haven't played with IC2 since the early days of 1.5.2, when such a machine didn't exist.

Having a hard time reading what you are actually asking about, but here goes:

Yes there are great changes to IC2. Monster uses the new IC2 Experimental. It has greatly increased the difficulty of some parts and have introduced new tiers of power items.

The new version relies heavily on Forge hammer and the cutters for everything. There are crafting recipes for a few things that you can avoid using them, but as you found out you pay for it greatly in material costs. Once you get set up you can make a machine to replace the forge hammer and cutter function(Cant remember the name right now, but you can find the details on the IC2 site). This is greatly encouraged since the durability of the hammer and cutters will drive you crazy in the end.

Where did you hear 4 copper->2 wires from? It's still 3 copper for 6 cables unless you use the new metal former machine on extract mode in which case it is 2 copper for 6 wires which you will note is cheaper than before. Most things are cheaper. Batteries are cheaper requiring only 2 tin, down from 4, and nuclear power is vastly cheaper, no longer will you need 2 stacks of copper to get a basic reactor going, it just needs some lead. Some things require more resources than before, like the MFE, but that is because it was bumped up a tier. There are now 4 levels of energy storage and the MFE is now 3 instead of 2.

As rhn up there said the durability stuff is a bit insane and unrealistic (I have some metalworking stuff from my grandfather that is still in good working order) but I think the intent was for you to exchange a potentially renewable resource (iron golem farms exist) for the time, energy and effort of the metal former.

As for info, I got most of mine from NEI, Direwolf20's videos, and reading around here, you can always ask here or in the ask a simple question get a simple answer thread.

ya, i messing around myself right now to get used to the new ic2, but seems to be fun ;)

found out about the forge hammer so late i think i used 4 copper to make a plate instead of the forge hammer ^^
