I finally started in my Monsterpack world with 1.6.4
i noticed lots of changes in ic2 up to now. is it true that takes so much copper to make the cabel now`?
4 copper for 2 copper cable in the end with out a forge hammer that i just found out about.
seems to be hard since it was 3 copper for I believe 6 copper
Where did you hear 4 copper->2 wires from? It's still 3 copper for 6 cables unless you use the new metal former machine on extract mode in which case it is 2 copper for 6 wires which you will note is cheaper than before. Most things are cheaper. Batteries are cheaper requiring only 2 tin, down from 4, and nuclear power is vastly cheaper, no longer will you need 2 stacks of copper to get a basic reactor going, it just needs some lead. Some things require more resources than before, like the MFE, but that is because it was bumped up a tier. There are now 4 levels of energy storage and the MFE is now 3 instead of 2.
As rhn up there said the durability stuff is a bit insane and unrealistic (I have some metalworking stuff from my grandfather that is still in good working order) but I think the intent was for you to exchange a potentially renewable resource (iron golem farms exist) for the time, energy and effort of the metal former.
As for info, I got most of mine from NEI, Direwolf20's videos, and reading around here, you can always ask here or in the
