If you would also let your tower produce steam it could be used to also create MJ instead of EU. A lot of people (myself included) don't have much of a use for EU so that would make your mod more popular. Don't make the mistake of relying on just one mod.

Also: make very sure you get the help of an experienced coder to look at your mod and see if you made mistakes. You will make many beginner mistakes and those might really impact server players. RP2 relays for example create pretty big performance issues.

Well that was his first idea but we decided to go with the Tower - Heliostats build , this addon should be unique and not a copy of something else .
As i said it will be very customizable and can scale from 2 eu/t to 2000 eu/t . I'm really against the idea of single block generating power , and really IC2 misses some multiblock generators .
Really this sphere of solars can be made in a very cool way , of upgrades that add stuff and so on .

Sounds very nice , but scaling all of this would take quite alot of time to code . But maybe in the future .

About the steam - Maybe a config option for the future . ( but i believe steam trubine is not the right machine so we will think about something else maybe )

Also of course the tower will be the outputting structure so you will basically have 1 output

Can I have your skype please? Im gonna start coding stuff soon or so, so just to keep in touch :)

I don't see what the point in getting antsy over a block like the solar panel is when a block like the aqueous accumulator exists.

At least solar panels are based on reality.

Ok, hope this is helpuful, but if your not started yet, let me help you. First go download MCP. That stands for Minecraft Coder Pack. Now go find a guide for decompiling so you have the source code of Minecraft, Forge, and the IC2 api, which is already decompiled, you just add it after. Learn to make a basic block, and give it a texture. Now find out how to make it do something when its day. Make that "something" be emit EU. Now that you just made your first generator, give it a GUI. Nothing fancy, just a simple thing with a charging slot and a indicator for if its raining/night or day.

Congrats, your mod is almost done. Just repeat these steps for each generator you want to add. It will get easier after some practice. Also, people like hearing about this stuff, but love using it even more, so get started.

Thanks would you mind adding me on Skype so I could have help with a little more in depth details?

Maybe because one gives you unlimited water which is only slightly more useful then a 2x2 pool of it. While the other gives you unlimited power something much more useful.

Water = Energy.

They both give infinite, no-maintenance power.

The only difference is the period of time in which they give it. And the fact that the aqueous accumulator can be acquired way, way earlier in the game.

Actually, considering that most resources in the game are for all intents and purposes infinite, there's no energy source that doesn't give infinite power.

Lava? Infinite. Biofuel? Infinite. Oil? Infinite.

Show me your water powered system that has the same output to foot print ratio of ultimate hybrid solars and I'll give you that statement.

That's not at all the issue. You said that aqueous accumulators didn't provide unlimited power. I proved that it infact did.

So, that statement is mine whether or not it puts out the same amount of energy as solar panels, because it does put out energy.

Not on it own you need a complex bucket filler or glass bottle factory to harness the power of the mills. If the mills could take liquid water than I would agree but they don't.
