I have looked for over an hour and a half now, all of the instructions I find are outdated and don't work. Can anyone help me find / install a mod that lets you cut the bottom out for trees to fell the entire plant?

There is an item for that called "Axe of the Stream", which comes from the mod Thaumcraft3.

I am playing Tech world modpac though, I don't like screwing around with all the magic stuff; at least not yet.
Well, TehKrush's Timber! mod makes the trees break wholly when you hit them with any axe, so you can get that one then ^^

How would I go about installing that with FTB or alongside the FTB modifications? (To play the Techworld modpac you play via the TBC launcher. Sure you know that though.)

I have no idea what TBC launcher is (I assume it's not The Burning Crusade). Don't assume that I know anything, because most of the problems I help out with here in Tech support I do so with common sense and google =)

If you play on SP, it could be as easy as throwing the files of Timber!mod where they belong.

Alright, I'll give it a go, thanks. Edit: Ack says it needs Forge or Modloader, do I need those on top of FTB or will it work with FTB?[DOUBLEPOST=1369428671][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yes it will work with FTB, considering FTB uses Forge

E: That's the thing that always drives me nuts during FTB startup.. "FML is preparing stuff" Really FML
E2: You can make sure it's "installed" fine if you start FTB launcher, select "edit mod packs" and find the Timbermod in the "enabled" side of the lists :3

So instead of fussing with Forge or Modloader I would just put it straight into the minecraft mods folder?

Let's say you play Techworld. There should be a folder named "TechWorld" (or something similar I unno never played TW) in your FTB folder. You open that, then go minecraft->mods and throw the timber.zip here

E: Make sure you downloaded the correct version of the mod.

Okay, thanks for the help sorry if I am stupid; the extent of my minecraft modding experience was booting up Technic until they messed up Tekkit and I found FTB[DOUBLEPOST=1369429159][/DOUBLEPOST]

Which minecraft version are you running? 1.4.7, 1.5.1 or 1.5.2?

(Hint: You can find the answer by starting your TechWorld and looking to the bottom left screen of minecraft mainmenu.)

Then download the timbermod 1.4.6 version (1.4.6 versions are usually the ones for mc 1.4.7 as well, because they generally were compatible and no updates were needed)

Treecapitator is a good one I have been using. It is preconfigured to work with almost all trees from all mods. There are 2 parts to it and the install is easy with the FTB launcher. Just select edit modpack and select add mod. bspkrcore file goes into the main mod folder. Treecapitator file goes into the coremods folder. Here is the link for the mod. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic...meinfo-crystalwing-startinginv-floatingruins/
