This is why I play almost exclusively single player. I decide how I spend my session of play.

Playing on multiplayer is fun, but there are far, far too many limitations for me to enjoy myself. Between mod configurations and the builds of mine that are server resource-intensive, it's simply not feasible.

That's how I play, but I like other humans (or are they?) occasionally. Also, if I get invited to the server and it's not annoying/laggy/whatever then...

like this comment if your a 90's kid. #swag #irememberspongebob #betterthanu

Don't tell me what to do.

LMAO at you people who quote the 90's and only know it by reruns. I also like playing on a decent server and going through the configs would be hard but if someone has already gone through and done it before I could follow a simple list because I have loaded mods to the minecraft jar. I know its time consuming and sometimes I would miss stuff (usually forgetting to redelete the META-INF file) but it all boils down to how much work you want to put into working to play FTB.

I also dislike the configs, you can disable the nerfs and everything, but tell me when you understand all that crap of ''boolean 1 true 0 false
b.blockCraft=true
b.craft.compressor=false
b.wtfdoesthishitmeans=noidea

and all that crap hard to understand

o-O..?

The eighties make me wish I was born in 79 instead of 81.
At least there's not retarded memes like "if you remember this you were born in the 90s" and most people born in the 80s have actually grown up to a point where they're not absurd idiotic douchenozzles

wai wai wait wa? lemme recap jus a sec
set to FALSE to ENABLE the BLOCKING of a RECIPE REMOVER, which means you set "false" to enable being able to block a recipe remover thing... wtf
it can just be:
b.NormalIronBlockRecipe=true
b.RetardedIronBlockRecipe=false

the first one is for the normal crafting and the second for the compressor, want both enabled? do so, want only one? you can do it too, want to disable both? go ahead.

Quite the opposite. GenX has been complicit with a lot of the economic troubles the world has suffered. By comparison most people in GenY are just sorta... hapless and confused where all the prosperity went. Both generation's parents are quietly cursing both groups, not realizing the irony that the economy they selfishly created is what netted them boomerang kids.

Well there was good music.
I have to say that the music today is not very.... good.

Back to the topic at hand... It is nice for Greg to give us configs at all. He is not required to, He does it though.

And really, yeah, it is harder and makes things take longer. Everything in Gregtech is useful, BUT more importantly, it actually works!!! When was the last time you had a client/server crash cause of GT? Compared to say... any other mod that adds as much as he does?

I'm from the '50s.

The 5050's.

Boy, you really ought to come to the 51st century. The music's the best it's ever been! We do have a slight problem with a library infested with flesh-eating shadows, though, don't go there.

I prefer the New Roman empire, sorry.

Met a woman there.

Library sounds nasty, some sort of monster doctor could take care of that?

While I can't argue that those statements aren't factual, one wonders why someone who knows better would actually stay on such a server. Alternatively, I've seen several supposed server admins claim their members are apparently not capable of installing a config from dropbox. My unspoken question is "why do you want them on your server? You owe them money or something?"

The world of Minecraft Server hosting is a strange one.

"You owe them money or something?" Kind of answers your question, only it's not usually money. Usually bad admin/ mods are friends of friends who get the position becasue the owner thinks they are obligated to give their friends a high position.
We call it nepotism and it usually ruins things.
Also "staff" selection for things like player moderator one might not factor in technical ability past that of being able to type /ban xxplayer forYreason. Also titles are not as uniform as you think; When I ran a server the hirarchy titles was so Owner>admin>mod>player. But I've been on servers where they place the title of mod>admin.
So those supposed admins may have only been at a level you would consider a moderator.

And as for not staying on a server with inept staff, while that's good advice. it becomes impractical when you do the sometimes long search for that perfect server.
Sometimes it's a choice of Shit server with good staff or great server with shit staff, ohh there's also the choice of not playing multiplayer at all. but if you are like me, playing single player for some reason feels pointless.
There is also the chance you actually do find that perfect server but finding the perfect server that match your specifications is difficult and long so you will lower your criteria and settle.

Better yet, Run your own server!

Better yet, Run your own server!

Then you get to the problem of financing and running it.
Which if you have ran a server before is not exactly fun... Trust me I've tried it.

The "make your own server" advice is for most people impractical and costly. Some people just CAN'T plain old do it.
Of course this depends on what they want in a server, if all you want is a small server with max 6 people on at once, Yes your advice is rather simple to follow you probably would not even need to a pay just set up a hamachi based server the only cost would be power and for me bandwidth.
But if you want more community and options "making your own" starts too look like more work then what it's worth.

Sometimes you just have to make do with servers that don't 100% suit you. Sometimes that means bearing with invasive mods and poor staff.
