Title Huge FPS drop on FTB Beyond

Launcher Type Curse App

Modpack FTB Beyond

Modpack version 1.0.1

Have you modified the pack? No

Link to log file

Details of the issue Hello,

I get HUGE FPS drops every 30sec or 1min, not always at the same interval. I usually get 100 FPS or more and then it drops to 0 FPS.
Anyone could help me locate the source of the problem?

Thank you in advance

I'm sorry but Im not really sure how to get the log since I didn't have a crash and their is no console when I start the game.

I see a similar thing happen maybe once every few minutes - the game sort of locks up for 2 or 3 seconds, then keeps running normally without lag until the next time.

I just caught the latest lag and logged out immediately - here are the three lines I saw just before all of the Save output:

[10:35:56] [Client thread/INFO]: Default sorting.
[10:35:56] [Client thread/INFO]: Sorting done in 519525ns
[10:36:21] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2630ms behind, skipping 52 tick(s)

Another ~3 second lag spike - while mining in a tunnel, not looking at inventory... a similar set of lines in the log file:

[12:02:08] [Client thread/INFO]: Handling crafting slots.
[12:02:08] [Client thread/INFO]: Merging stacks.
[12:02:08] [Client thread/INFO]: Applying rules.

[12:02:08] [Client thread/INFO]: Default sorting.
[12:02:08] [Client thread/INFO]: Sorting done in 47907171ns
[12:02:47] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2676ms behind, skipping 53 tick(s)

odd, since (as I said) I was just mining blocks. None of my EnderIO machines are running, nor do I have any storage systems at this point other than vanilla chests.

Next spike: running through cave, just placed a torch and... screeching halt for 3 seconds.

[12:19:48] [Client thread/INFO]: Default sorting.

[12:21:20] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2692ms behind, skipping 53 tick(s)

Playing single player instance of FTB Beyond, version 1.1.0 on an Intel i5 3.4Ghz tower with 16GB of RAM. 64 bit Java, version 8_121

Different log this time - just walking up to a chest - had not opened it yet, just walking, but WAILA info popped up and game lagged for 5 or 6 seconds.
There are no other log entries near it...

[12:47:44] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 3016ms behind, skipping 60 tick(s)

Opened a few chests this time and got more lag spikes:
at least this isn't quite as annoying to lag on a chest, but it was so repeatable...
(although if it was a dungeon chest with active spawner I might be annoyed)

A few more notes on the lag:
it seems possible to "build up" lag, where eventually the game lags every few seconds. Closing the game, and closing the launcher and restarting seems to reset the time between lag spike back to a playable level again.

Is this maybe related somehow to InventoryTweaks? I can't figure out why running around an existing chunk or placing a torch would cause this much lag in Single Player

I have updated to version 1.2.1 and the lag spikes remain. Further tests reveal it seems to be something in FTB Beyond - TaskMan shows nothing abnormal and background tasks like Youtube continue to play with no "burps", so Windows doesn't appear to be it. I'm a bit curious what these "sorting" entries in the log file are referring to since they seem to coincide with each of the lag spikes. (Also, most of the time that the lag spikes occur I am actually doing something innocuous, not with my inventory open or a chest open... so again, what is this sorting that is going on?)
