So after seeing that the first snapshot for 1.6 has been released, I started thinking of potential new features for mods and was just wondering what other people thought?

MFR Horse Grinder for glue?

Cowboy Turtles?

What else?

Better villages, craftable cobwebs and better biome generation that related neighboring biomes to each other, i.e. desert can't span next to tundra, mountains are more likely to spawn next to hills etc.

For me it is a robotic IC2 horse that runs on EU or nano/quantium horse armor of course.

Other then that It looks like 1.6 will be another nightmare of a patch for mod makers due to swapping to a whole new java and openGL environment. Let alone the new luncher that from what I've seen in a few mod author's twitter posts may prove very problematic to some modders but time will tell.

I think the OP meant specifically changes mods can make to use the new stuff.

If we're going to grind up horses though, we might as well get some sort of horse meat out of it too.

I would like to see Mojang coming with original ideas instead of taking stuff from mods:
1.2 - 2 new biomes (ExtraBiomes)
1.3 - 2 new kinds of dungeons (Better Dungeons), Ender Chest (Enderstorage)
1.4 - 1 new hostile mob (Better Dungeons), 3 new kinds of food (Useful Foods)
1.5 - Hoppers (Buildcraft), Activator Rail and TNT cart (Railcraft), Light Sensor and Comparator (Redpower 2), Redstone Block (swear I saw it somewhere on Ultimate), new ore in the Nether (Nether Ores).
1.6 - New animal mobs (Mo' Creatures).
But then again, I am not amused by Minecraft now, given Jeb's direction. What the hell does that guy thinks he's doing?

You know what would really suck? If we got mod API or anything that stopped the whole process of destroying mods whenever an update comes out. I'm really happy that they're giving us horses, they're probably going to be super useful just like ocelots!

Pegasus mod of course! Cyber, death ray, unicorn options. Gregtech version takes 82% of the fun out of it

Unicorns that bleed gold and give you a half, cursed life if you slay them. The MFR straw would allow you to drink it.

Tank treads on donkeys with turret upgrades

Gremlin mobs that multiply when they touch water

Villager werewolves, Villagers that steal your horse, Villagers that wear armor and are semi aggressive

and like a 50% fps boost

Maybe a chance for a new RP2 Blulectric generator?, attach a giant hamster wheel to a kinetic generator, put an animal inside, feed it wheat/apples and you get power depending on the size of the animal :p

Well, speaking of mobs and tanks, I immediately thought of donkeys as pack animals. I want to see some better rope functionality too. Looks like they're finally doing a bit of that zipline mod they said they might add ages ago.

Also, assuming not all of 2.0 was april fools, I might actually like a pink wither typ mob, and subsequently a way to use it's bones as armor. OOH! Super-rare dragon bosses that spawn in the world, but only in deep mountain caves like hydras. But can fly.

A mobgrinder would be awesome though. Mob traps would be much easier.

Also, a bit off-topic, but do buildcraft hoppers act the same as vanilla hoppers? I don't think you can throw stuff into them, which was a bit disappointing to me.
