Greetings,

I was wondering if there was a mod that lets you teleport to locations?

My Nether Portal throws me out in the middle of no where so I hate the long walk home. I also hate having to walk a long distance to my friends' bases. Also I want to go to The End but don't want to get stuck there/fight the Dragon (Just need pearls).

Thanks

Do you have a waypoint mod? With a mod, such as journeymap, you can set waypoints and teleport to them as long as cheats are enabled. Also, if draconic evolution is installed, you can craft an enhanced charm of dislocation. It allows teleporting with the cost of ender pearls. It can even go through dimensions.

portal guns are a fun one but I don't think they always work right. I've heard of portals not saving so I don't personally use them

As mattp said above, an enhanced charm is great, you just have to have a lot of ender pearls to fuel it, but it allows you to set locations that you can freely teleport between, even between different dimensions

however most proper teleportation is pretty high level so a good idea is to make a jetpack and glider, that combo lets you get around pretty quickly without using too much power and resources, or if you can't quite scrape together the resources for a jetpack or can't power it, make springboards with a glider, that'll let you cover a pretty long distance quickly

Sadly no Ender Pearls (hence going to The End). I'm running the Direwolf20 Modpack. Right now I'm mainly concerned with not getting stuck in The End

for travelling between dimensions you can quite easily use mystcraft link books, just make a few link books, use one in your base in the overworld, then take that into the end with you and place it in a bookstand, you can then just right click on it and click the top portion of the right page of the menu and it'll teleport you to wherever you initially linked the book... if that makes sense, feels like it's quite hard to explain

you'll also likely want to use a link book once you're in the end (usually at your link book back to the overworld) and place that in a bookstand in the overworld

Edit: I thought I should add that I've had issues when using link books in the same dimension, a friend and me made link books between our bases on a server and whenever we used the books we'd drop all our inventory for some reason, so I would recommend only using them to travel between dimensions

yeah, MFR refers to mine factory reloaded, the mod that they're in.

you can also make a quite elaborate but VERY fast enderman grinder in the end, but they're quite elaborate
Plus then you'd be stuck in the end with no way back if you didn't kill the dragon, thus showing the point of the original problem. :p

I mean, there is a good chance of having a couple pearls lying around. If you had enough draconium, you could make the teleportation charm and add those few pearls and tp out of the end when needed, bringing pearls out and only needing 2 to go there and back.

I figured I'd quickly show off the enderman grinder because it's pretty cool and well worth doing...
vS50rkE.jpg

as you can see it's pretty massive... to put it simply it provides places for endermen to spawn and then pushes them to their deaths (or very near death) when they do...
CNuJPE5.jpg

so this is the bit that the endermen fall onto, the glowstone blocks are on pistons, when raised, the endermen land with 1 or half a heart remaining so that you can cull them by hand, and when they're lowered it just kills them, then there's the vacuum hopers there to suck all the good stuff (including xp) up and transport it to wherever...

the mechanism itself (way up at the top) looks like this, the endermen spawn on the spots provided (on the pressure plates), activate the pistons, and get pushed down to the platform below.

I'm sure you can make them MUCH smaller but this one makes thousands and thousands of ender pearls and loads of XP, which is nice

Two Emeralds for the spawner?! :( Any tricks to getting Emerald other than "needle-in-a-haystack" mining and dealing with inflated villagers

honestly just mining, if you've got tinker's construct up and running to the point where you can make metal tools then make a hammer and just blast through the earth, alternatively a decent pickaxe and branch mining, but I prefer the hammer method... you can't really think about getting too much fancy tech done until you've got some method of gathering resources en masse

I do actually recommend going to villagers; often enough, you can harvest some of their own wheat and force feed it to them. :p Alternatively, you could build some kind of villager spawner and melt them in a smeltery. Mueheheheh... @malicious_bloke could probably help with that.

Or the captured in a small area with vacuum hoppers method. Can't remember if the dropping is vanilla, or mod added, or even when it turned up.
