Here's my problem: i've just set up my quarry, and I want to sort the items with a sorting machine. However, I don't know how to integrate the BC pipes (connected to the quarry) with the RP tubes. My first thought was to put the items into a chest first, then use some RP machine to pull them out of the chest and into the tubes. Alas, so far I haven't found anything that can do it. Does anyone know a solution?

What you want is a pipe leading to a chest, then an RP2 Filter attached to that chest. Put no items in the filter and give it a 1s redstone timer. It'll pull out full stacks, 1 per second. If you're using Ender Chests, you can link the filter directly to that. I'm pretty sure Sorting Machines cannot, by themselves, slurp from the adjacent inventory.

If you're using tesseracts, you'll need to need to have a bridging chest. A double chest should be sufficient.

EDIT: Or a Relay, but be wary of that. I had 2 quarries running into 1 relay and I started dropping items.

Relay works best, but is quite simple.

You can pipe into a chest and use a filter to retrieve, that only requires a redstone pulse to activate. You could also use a sorter which requires blutricity, but gives you many options for tagging with colors.[DOUBLEPOST=1360458002][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yes, they can and work great :)

a filter will only ever pull from the first (top left) slot in a chest. if your timer is too slow, it will rarely pull anything but 1 item at a time, usually cobble. set the timer faster and its laggier. imo best way is relay ontop of the quarry then tubes over a row of barrels (for the stuff you know youll get a ton of) then an overflow dia chest or 5

Then that is the best option. Like I said, for some reason relays can never keep up on my server. It's too bad we have to rely on such janky solutions as these RP2 bridges. We need better pipes!

Just tried both of those, neither of them did anything. The items just sat there in the relay/chest without going anywhere.

Make sure it's oriented correctly. There is a "correct" orientation for the all 3 proposed solutions.

there has to be a valid destination. Also make sure the relays output isnt aimed at the quarry/empty space.
