I have spent a good couple of hours trying to set Minecraft up again - it has been a while since I played last.

After installing minecraft, trying to figure out the old FTB launcher, trying Curse and eventually stumbling across it all working I have loaded up Minecraft with FTB Ultimate.

I am now struggling to work out how I enable the Minimap & NEI.

For the life of me I can't work out whether they are included in FTB Ultimate ( i think they are) and how I enable them.

I have tried all the usual keyboard shortcuts/option menus but nothing appears to work.

it is a standard (I think) install, running on Windows 10 64bit.

Many thanks,

Ultimate is a pack for Minecraft 1.4.7... We're currently seeing development of packs for MC 1.10.2, so you've been away for a few years :D

The only thing I can think of, assuming that the pack has been maintained with version-specific mods, is that you may have too new a version of Java itself, which has also gone through a couple of major versions, currently at 1.8.0_xx (Mojang uses 1.8.0_25 for development).

I know at the times of Java changes people had problems and had to switch back to an older version... I seem to recall Java 1.6 to 1.7 was a sticking point when 1.6 packs were out, and there have definitely been several Java commands depreciated and replaced between 1.6-1.7 and 1.7-1.8.

Long story short, try an older Java... I'm sure you can find threads indicating which version was in use at the time.

Looking at the Curse launcher, it says my Minecraft is version 1.4.7 (modded) forge-6.6.2.534.

Does this help in any way as to how I enable FTB Ultimate?

In Curse I am loading minecraft via the 'FTB Ultimate' ''play'' button, and my HD texture pack has loaded correctly with the game?

Cheers :)

add...but my minecraft is 1.10.2, which I have just realised. I take it this is what you mean, FTB Ultimate isn't compatible with my Minecraft version 1.10.

Ill try and find a way of downloading an older version of Minecraft.

Many thanks for your help

MC 1.10.2 is ok with Windows 10... I run Unstable 1.10.2 myself. What it looks like you need is the Minecraft 1.4.7 version. If you loaded from Curse I'm surprised this didn't automatically start for you, since the Ultimate pack profile should specify it.

I have 3 separate packs I run (using Curse)... a ver. 1.9, a ver. 1.9.4 and the 1.10.2 version. I used to run the newest Direwolf20 which is 1.7.10 as well, and all 4 automatically load the correct version of Minecraft for what I play.

I'll try loading Ultimate and see what happens.

[Edit] It looks like you found a bug or a configuration error at Curse. I loaded Ultimate and instead of showing me running Minecraft 1.4.7 the Start screen shows me running 1.10.2. For some reason the 1.4.7 version of Minecraft isn't running. You should probably open a ticket with Curse Support to get it checked.
