Interstingly enough though, it's actually true!

So wait, he's adding additional uses to content originating in other mods? Such horror!

So far my only major problem has been getting enough iron

Iron ore with a calcium carbonate cell makes 3 refined iron in a industrial blast furnace. Macerate or pulverize it and re-smelt for normal iron. All the bonus of factorization, but ridiculously faster once you have it setup.

I currently can't decide if the next thing I should make should be the industrial blast furnace so I can make silicon plates for slightly easier advanced circuits (get the cells as a bi-product of obsidian > iron) or if I want to get the industrial grinder

Build the grinder, then grind everything you have in stock (don't do iron, save it) then repurpose the machine casings for an industrial blast furnace. That's what I did originally.

That's the rub, I need the iron to make either of the machines as I have I believe 4 ingots left right now :X Heck, I'm still using the normal generator fueled by wooden planks that I got from using the TE sawmill. I'm thinking I can either turn that into a Thermal Gen and use some of the lava as fuel instead of centrifuging it, or I can shoot for some ingvar ingots and make a gas turbine so I can use up the methane from centrifuging rubber wood and use the coal cells to make my nano armor.

As for the machine casings, in which way did you repurpose them? Did you just grind everything you had, took the machine apart, and then build an industrial blast furnace? I guess my main problem with that setup would be having to make some extra casings that I would just replace later and it doesn't seem like there's a way to reclaim the materials from the casing outside of maybe the uncrafting table.

There's so much to do, and I want to try to get some decent armor and at least a bow with a ton of arrows so I can mine out this large hill thing from Twilight Forest. I quite literally spawned right next to one of those large hills and saw those wraiths flying about outside of it, so I wanna be prepared for the fight so I can get all the loot, hence why I'm torn on the order I want to do things.

Regarding not grinding the iron, what would I save it for?

I used - and continue to use - gas turbines, but I never used Invar for them. Aluminium all the way, but that requires an industrial electrolyzer. I also used a centrifuge on ground marble to make magnalium plates for cheaper (much much cheaper) windmills, required to build the turbines.

As for the machine casings, in which way did you repurpose them? Did you just grind everything you had, took the machine apart, and then build an industrial blast furnace?

If you start with a normally built grinder, take out the top center, replace the water with lava, put a 2nd lava in the middle of the layer you just opened, then build a 4th layer and attach the furnace. So yes, that's exactly what I did. This setup is more than enough for everything except chrome.

I guess my main problem with that setup would be having to make some extra casings that I would just replace later and it doesn't seem like there's a way to reclaim the materials from the casing outside of maybe the uncrafting table.

There is no ingame reason to build chrome casings, ever, for the blast furnace. You only need too build 8 casings over and above the grinder for the furnace to work, and they can all be steel based which you'llre use "forever", or until GT gets updated to necessitate chrome casings. Later, when you have the materials, you can build 25 more steel casings and run both the furnace and grinder at the same time.

Regarding not grinding the iron, what would I save it for?

Industrial Blast furnace with the calcium cell for x3 ingots per ore instead of x2
