How do you OP yourself in SSP?

Because using the command block tells me i need to be an OP, and in creative mode.

Well i'm in creative, but still giving me the message. I've searched around a bit and it tells me i need to edit an "ops.txt" file. I can't seem to find it.

Edit: All i want to do is turn invintory loss on death off in my solo world. It's something i think works for regular MC, but for modded with how complicated some of your tools are...

Yeah, I'll admit it, I don't like GT-Intrusive mode... First time trying it though, I'd like at least a small safety net.

Think you need cheats allowed as well.

click open to lan and enable cheats from pause menu

Is this method permanent, or do you have to do it every time? I used NBTExplorer to edit save data for this.

It says the command worked, without it actually working.

when creating the world enable cheats, if not, open to LAN and you can use cheats, they will work forever even if you aren't op the next time you launch.
