How do you get lots of apples?

The farms I got set up don't seem to give them to me fast enough. I am trying to get the apple juice for biofuel production, but I just burn through the apple juice way to fast for this to be a long term solution.

I believe it's Growthcraft that adds an apple tree, and with several of those planted you'll be using apples to create Singularities just to get rid of them.

I got growthcraft installed, but haven't delved into it much. What are singularities, and what do they do exactly?

Singularities are an item from AE used to create long distance connections for a single network. I mentioned them because to make a single Singularity (which then gets made into an entangled pair of singularities, but I digress) you need 256,000 items to basically trash.

You could do some tree breeding to get another tree that bears another type of fruit that is more juicy and produces more of it. Then plant those trees on a Forestry Multifarm in Orchard mode.

Applied Energistics? I will have to look into this. Could you give any more information?

But for the refining process, I thought it had to be apple/fruit juice? Orchard mode? I am a little confused at that.

As for the trees and Orchard Mode, that's what the default managed multifarm setting is(aka make a managed circuit board, add copper electon tubes to the managed bits and move along).
Plus, apple juice is sorta a waste. I mean, why use apple juice and not, say, veggie juice? Or honey? Why apple juice? Liquid honey is my go to fluid for that sorta thing, believe it or not.

It's just that I've always used it, cause I thought it was the only way to go for the refining process. What veggies can ya squeeze for veggie juice for it?

Gonna say Carrots obviously, but since I'm not in game I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that most(if not all) veggies from Pams HC are likely ok for veggie juice.

That's the last mod I am trying to add to my set, but client keeps on crashing. Trying to chase down what is causing it to crash on me.

Don't worry too much about it.
Also seriously, liquid honey for biomass, man. You have bees, you have honey, why avoid the most logical setup here? Get honey drops(or honeydew if you can make it on the side and don't use much of it) and squeeze it, get liquid honey. Need that stuff for tons of important things, so a good stockpile of it is all but needed anyway.

Pams is indeed awesome.

I've found Golem farms to be the most efficient. Why? Because you can specify the tree spread, to allow room for large numbers of leaves, which are what produce the apples.

Ehm as long as we are all talking about the Forestry biofuel process(now called Ethanol if not mistaken), then it is no longer called Apple Juice but simple Fruit Juice and can be squeezed from many types of the forestry(and extratrees) fruits.

As for the multifarm mode check this page out:
http://ftbwiki.org/MultiFarm#Manual_Farms
The Orchard will leave the trees and their leaves alone and only pick the fruit once it ripens. You get much more fruit this way as compared to running a normal Arboretum(woodfarm), since every single leaf block will mature fruit and get picked by the Orchard. Works really well with nuts etc. as well for seedoil.

Well Biomes O' Plenty does add an orchard biome which adds apple oak trees, so that's another method you could look into

Then it's a clickfest on the apples on the trees instead of the obvious answers like "just grow some apple oaks with Forestry if you need apples".

My lazy ass was looking for automation. Just set it up and walk away. As cheesy as it it, it's just how I want it. Don't want to babysit it :D

Liquid honey is kinda needed for bee related stuff.
Apples are a byproduct from getting wood.
Squeezing fruit has a useful byproduct.

If you need more mulch (from what I remember apples make more juice then mulch)- give the lumbermill (ExtraTrees) a go.

Exactly! You need honey for bee stuff, and you're gonna have bees making those other products, and the honey. A bit of honey isn't exactly a hard thing to collect unless you have zero bees, or maybe nothing but ignoble queens(and that's more of a Sword of Damocles more then a actual issue AFAIK).
