Then, place the Craft Packet in a Craftpacket Stamper to obtain 18 Diamond Shards.
- 4x Obsidian
- 4x TNT
- 1x Diamond Block (GregTech: 9 Diamonds in an IC2 compressor)
- Output: 1 Craft Packet
I have to say that, while I enjoy the mod, the diamond shards recipe is the bit that I really dislike, for a number of reasons:
1. It's expensive. 9 diamonds for the ingredient to one of the basic processing machines?
2. It's multi-faceted. Think of the requirements, you have 9 diamonds, which is a fair amount of caving/mining, and electing to not peruse some other early game stuff, obsidian, which needs another 3 diamonds (without some of the mod added recipes), and TNT, which is either a desert temple, or quite a few risky hunting sessions with creepers.
3. The stamper. It's as if you are being required to make it and then you might use it, but never do (except maybe for a packager).
I'm aware that it's purely my own gripe, but it's one of the things that stop me using it early game, just the price of it.
The catch is that it's the craftpacket that's in NEI so if people don't know that it's harder to find.NEI.
I have no idea why you would post this honestly. I'm sorry but seriously...NEI
Edit: If it's not working reinstall it, then wiki it.
And then I scrolled up the thread to see who this 'Fuzzlewhumper' was that you were complaining about. And then in a similarly self descriptive manner, I described my own actions and then my own post and then my description of my post and then my description of my description of my post and then LOOP ALL THE THINGS.Heh, I got to see two different teaching styles in this thread.
Some gave the OP a fish.
Others tried to teach the OP how to fish.
And then the Fuzzlewhumper comes in and ruins it with his crappy observations.
Your observations were crappy, nobody gave him a fish. We're talking about the Diamond Shard. Get it together, Fuzz.Heh, I got to see two different teaching styles in this thread.

Aw, throw him a bone.Your observations were crappy, nobody gave him a fish. We're talking about the Diamond Shard. Get it together, Fuzz.
I ... tend not to go about things in the usual manner. I don't bother too much about efficiency, especially at first, and I tend not to do a vast amount of mining, if I can help it. Enchanting is usually something I leave until I can do it properly (books and so on). My point was that there is a massive leap between factorization's T1 (slag furnace) processing methods, and the next step up (grinder), requiring a colossal amount more materials. And that the materials that it needs straddle both mining and adventuring (gunpowder, enderpearls, diamond, obsidian). This is the main reason that I tend to opt for either the TE or IC2 route when sorting things out.Umm, not saying you are wrong, but by the time you are thinking about diamond blocks you most likely have at least a fortune 2 pick axe. And depending on what you want the obsidian for, you can make an extruder and set it to obsidian and it costs no diamonds.
