No, I know. I personally don't use it. What I'm saying is that it's uncool for Greg to have taken the route he did when shaping Minecraft to his vision. He should have simply made his own mod to stand on its own merits.

well, no. I understand an addon, but with the amount of changes he wants, it would be much simpler for him to have created his own mod instead of changing all the other ones.

If you're really looking for a hardcore experience, you want TFC or BTW. They're about as hardcore as MC gets.Which would completely defeat the point of creating a hardcore experience with no shortcuts or exploits, even in an environment with many other mods.
Well, I'm not against addons. Addons are cool. I just don't think GT should have been an addon. (more of a change-on or a remove-on, really) He's got some cool ideas, some that I find less cool, but if GregTech had been its own mod, everyone would win. Greg would have his vision, people that like Greg's vision would have it, and people that wanted to play with the above two categories of people, but didn't like their favourite mods being messed with would still have them.[DOUBLEPOST=1357786354][/DOUBLEPOST]

As I said, if you're really looking for hardcore, what are you doing playing these mods? Honestly. Hardcore is not something techmods do well, even GregTech. It's not that hardcore, really. Even on hardmode, it's more tedious than difficult, and more annoying than tedious and difficult combined.
If you want hardcore, try TerraFirmaCraft or Better Than Wolves. Both of these are ideal "hardcore" mods.
