I don't have enough facepalms. Are you guys at all reading what I am telling you?
Hi Tsun. You're acting like a jerk. I'm still going to explain why no one can give you what you want, though. Because people are going to search this forum and find this thread, and I'd like to help them. I wish I didn't have to help you in the process, but I won't penalize The Future™.
I want to press a button that adds a new option into the FTB modpacks list that I can play myself alone and edit by myself alone as I please immediately with no uploads or downloads or FTB team involved.
The closest you can get right now is to use the FTB launcher to download a modpack, then use MultiMC with the "Copy from FTB" option. This will make a multimc minecraft instance that is a perfect copy of FTB. You can then modify that as you please. You won't be able to just click-to-add mods without downloading; more on why that is in a moment. If you download the mods, you can toss them in. MultiMC even makes this easy. Of course, it doesn't always magically work. Sometimes you'll need to do config work.
Even if there was a centralized & Steam-like repository of mods, you'd still have to do configuration work unless the FTB team does for every mod. Not all mods can play well together, and not all mods will without configuration. That's a lot of work, and it's very specific to what mods exist.
We said 2 paragraphs ago that we'd talk about why you can't just download the mods. Most mod devs use services like adf.ly to offset the cost of hosting their mods. Otherwise they'd end up with monthly bills in the triple digits. Adf.ly goes out of its way to make it hard to automate skipping their ads, and actively counter ways that people find to circumvent their business model.
I'm assuming that it's not possible since I've tried everything, but jesus christ.
Indeed. Goodbye. I'm never going to hear from you again.
