Horrible FPS with good PC

Details of the issue:
Hello,

i just installed the modpack with curse and also installed a 128x128 Texture pack again to play online. With the old launcher everything worked fine, but with curse i have horrible FPS (about 10).
I tried to install Optifine, but somehow it doesn't work.

The PC is a i5 6600K, GTX 970 and 16 GB RAM.

When i use the pack in 64x64 it works fine, but i can't imagine that this is the maximum for this PC.

Is there anything i can do?

I think 128x128 resource packs do tend to cause issue. I think those ones were intended for vanilla only. A 64x64 should be fine and still look good.

You could also try using MultiMC to run the pack. It can take a little time to get it to work but it can be done which may or may not help.
