Ok so I'm trying to make a (manual) combined wheat and rubber farm, on the largest configuration, but it won't work. I've got a gearbox connected to a bunch of engines so its got plenty of power, i've got some aqueous accumulators giving it water via a valve, and i've got hatches to automatically give it the saplings and seeds. I put out the stone bricks under it and the dirt on top of that, and it just sits there. Am I missing something?

Yes. you missed one of the most important parts of a manual farm. they are manual, because you have to also plant them in the case of the rubber farm. it only harvests the rubber, without harming the trees. so it does not need a supply of saplings.
The wheat farm has to be manually tilled before any seeds will be planted. you basically have to tell the farm where to plant by tilling the fields yourself. this allows a manual farm to use it's area more efficiently than the managed one.

Last item that you should check. have you given the farm any fertilizer? it will not work without that either.

A last note. check witch order you put the tubes into the circuit board. from top to bottom it should be North, South, East, West
trying to plant wheat in the direction you put your rubberized tube into will not work.

If it still wont work, then check the GUI for an error message, (red tab to the right of the GUI) and post it here.

We build a rubber farm with the new multi-blocks in this video. We go through it from scratch. Hope it helps.

Edit: ... apparently i cant make it just a link - sorry if the video is not allowed here - Turn into a link damn it! lol Edit2: there we go

Oh oh oh, another guess. Grow the trees normally, replace normal logs with resin hole logs.
resin hole logs are not obtainable afaik. they are blacklisted in portalgun, and are supposed to be so in gravity gun also. (altho i think there is an exploitable bug there due to an oversight on either the IC2 dev team or gravity gun authors side)

Planting and then removing all the logs without resin holes will always be an option tho, and since the farm can harvest no matter how densely the trees are placed, it makes for a rather "productive" farm that way as well.

Portal gun works just fine for me.

I don't really see using the portal gun in this way cheating. You could theoretically achieve this by normal means even though it would probably take forever. lol

Well, it costs a bloody nether star for starts.

That's one problem, another one is that a soulshard slime farm is way more efficient for getting sticky resin. Drown trap, wooden golem, a few powered furnaces and a centrifuge and you'll be up to your ears in rubber balls.

True so really this isn't that big a deal. Very good idea though. Also it's probably easier to just get your portal gun from a dungeon. lol Out of 8 people on my server I know of at least 2 of us that have found theirs via dungeon. Only 1 so far has killed the Wither to get his. Although the server is still pretty young...

Not yet Episode 2 is being delayed since I'm being bombarded with questions via email and through youtube, probably a Q&A update coming in between lol

Anyone would think I write the mod lol I'm learning this too.

Bit sad Sengir removed the ability to shift click the farm blocks from one block type to another, it would have made a good feature, unless he fixed it by accident.

Can anybody pls help me figure out why my multifarm isn't planting any wheat?
The farm has dirt as soil (layed manually), a "manual farm" circuit with all four slots set to wheat, dirt in the Soil Inventory, Seeds in the Germlings Inventory, apatite fertilizer and water. It tills the dirt automatically but doesn't plant anything. If I plant the Seeds manually, they will grow and are harvested automatically.

What am I doing wrong?

Need at least 1 water hole in the dirt, 1 water hole covers a 9x9 area (4 each side of the water) and no the water in the farm does not do this.

You may need to plant the initial wheat since the farm may have "faltered" starting up.

Also watch that lever isn't turning the whole farm off.

About manual farm, it will only plant seeds on hydrated tiled soil and harvest full grown wheat. You must tile the ground manually and keep it hydrated, water hydrates every soil in a 9x9 square around it (4 each side of water).
