{HELP} Server Out ofDate

Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong place but I couldn't find where to put it.
So basically I have set-up a private server for me and a couple of friends. We are using the magic world 2 mod pack with a couple of additions. I can run the server and my friends can connect however I can't connect, it won't let me click on the connect button. Instead of showing green connection bars it shows a red bar with 1.3 in red and when I hover over it, a message appears saying: ' server is out of date'. I deleted all FTB files then got the FTB launcher folder from my friend that can connect fine to the server but I still get this problem. Does anyone know the solution to this problem? Thanks.
 
Okay that's weird. That happens in vanilla when, say the server's on 1.7 and you're on 1.6. No idea why it would happen now. Make sure your friend isn't trolling you an post the logs from the server/your game please

The thing is, it does not create any errors cause i cant even start to attempt to join the server so no logs or errors are shown in the console. It just says 1.3 server is out of date. Plus i am sure my friend is not trolling

If no answer is found there, but an answer is found here, it just proves how dumb the change to the support site was.

I liked the original support sub-forum a lot more :/

Me too, I bet those Tech Support members with their banners also liked to show it off here! :P
Unfortunately, they moved it... :(

Indeed. I am no tech wiz, but know enough to help with simple stuff. And used to frequent the old tech forum to help where I could so the tech support guys could focus on the harder stuff. But now it is just too much of a hassle having to go to the other site, use a separate login etc. so I no longer do it. And I don't think I am the only one.

UPDATE/BUMP:
Basically we tried to switch the person who is hosting the server. In this case when my friend hosts the server I can join fine with no server out of date errors. He used the exactly the same server files as me but when I host it still does not work. Also the problem is that I am the only one out of my friend group that has a good computer able to host the server with no lag so letting my friend host is not the solution. Any more suggestions on what i should do?

I know BUT the error is shown on the launcher and is not produced onto the console. I cant even click "join" on the server so it does not produce any logs. Same with the server as no connection is attempted to be made. Literally what happens is that when i click on "multi player" i see my server with the connection bars red and 1.3 above them bars. When i hover over it a message appears saying "server is out of date".
