Help! Need a simple answer!

I am new to the FTB community. I just DL the Inifinity Evolved pack and i have a smeltery and I was wondering how to make a pickaxe/rod/binding mould. I have made all the stencils and i have iron/copper/tin/aluminum in the smeltry and none of these have made me a mould. I read that copper and aluminum will make a mould but i have both in the smeltry and i cant get any moulds when i place the pickaxe head down in the casting table.

Any help is very much appreciated!

Aluminum and copper combined in the smeltery makes the aluminum brass alloy which can be used or you could just use gold.

i put both copper and aluminum in the smeltry but there is nothing to which i can make a mould, and i cannot use gold bc i dont have a pickaxe to the level yet

i did, so i did this....i put aluminum and copper into the smeltry i put the pick head down on the casting table and i clicked to pour the mould nothing happened

when i put copper and aluminum in the smeltry should it show up as something other than molten aluminum and molten copper?

it should show up as Aluminum Brass. if it's 3 aluminum and one copper

yeah thats what i read, i put in a bunch of aluminum and copper and not seeing aluminum brass

Just use gold then, thats what I always do. its less trouble than trying to remember what exactly goes into the aluminum brass alloy. it might require a bit of tin as well, I dont know.

NEI is your friend. Look up the recipe for aluminum brass, and ensure you have the correct ratio of metals. Once the proper ratio is achieved, it will automatically turn into aluminum brass, while any extra will remain in original form.

In the Smeltery Contriller, click on the metal you wish to pour (it will pour which ever metal is on the bottom). Pour the aluminum brass over a stone tool part and you will have a cast. Pour your iron (or other metal) into the cast to obtain higher level tools. Use NEI to see what stats each metal provides as a tool component (mining level, speed, durability, etc).

You also need to click on the fluid you want to pour (in the smeltery controller GUI) to make it the bottommost one to pour it. Three aluminum and one copper is correct for brass - if your metals alloy with something else in your smeltery (for instance, copper and tin make bronze) you can just put in more aluminum and copper. Aluminum brass is yellow. If the metals aren't alloying at all, you might have some weird error .

Make sure you've put a Seared Faucet on the drain, and that the casting table is directly below the faucet.

Check the Tinker's Manuals for the recipe for aluminium brass. NEI gives you the recipe in mb, which is decidedly unhelpful.

Also, if you are using "Expert" mode in Infinity Evolved, each Aluminum Brass mold uses 2 ingots instead of the 1 ingot in "Normal" mode.
