In some packs it's possible to melt items in Tinkers' Construct (not sure about other mods), others it's configured not to allow such processing. In addition, the device to be re-smelted may have to be 100% repaired or it won't smelt.

This is why people need to provide this info about which pack, version of Java and possibly even version of the pack... A beta version may allow re-smelting and later the Dev decides that is too overpowered (OP) and removes the capability before the final release.

I don't know... I don't play Beyond. I was just saying that a certain action may be possible in a pack then not be possible after an update.

Have you tried Hambeau's idea? Is Tinkers even in the pack? Why do you think it's possible to melt a piston in gold to get gold (ie have you seen someone else do it)?

So much info you could give to help people help you but you seem to just want an instant answer.

2: give yourself infinite power blocks, machines, all methods of smelting/pulverising, and some iron/gold items to use to test
