Hey Guys,
So I haven't played Minecraft (much less FTB) in quite some time, probably nearly a year. I'm just wondering if any of you guys would mind letting me know if any huge changes have happened (especially since the Microsoft takeover) with either Minecraft or FTB!

Thanks in advance!

Lost as always
Well, 1.7.10 is now a fully mature and developed version of Minecraft, with plenty of mod support. Mods largely skipped 1.8 entirely. Micro$oft is declaring a Minecraft for Win10 only, which basically was predicted by me the moment I heard about the takeover, but 1.9 looks like promising as a 'final version' of Minecraft for the Rest Of Us. Curse now has a launcher which is Windows only that is probably going to replace the FTB server eventually.

Other than that, you've got your basic drama, your dev drama, your distribution rights drama, your overrated drama, some Bukkit drama, and some miscellaneous drama.

Not to mention ill-informed player drama. :D

Correction: Microsoft has come out with a version of MC Pocket Edition that runs on Windows 10 and is written in C++ like all the MCPE versions. It was released on 7/29 (the same day as Win 10) and is currently playable via LAN with a total of 8 players on either Win10 or Xbox. Right now, "Win10 MC beta" is free to current MC license holders, $4.99 for non-licensees and $9.99 after beta, and will have the same "free updates for life" from Mojang.

All of the MCPE versions will soon be the same version and from then on have coordinated updates, allowing multiplayer MCPE games, probably on Realms. "Java MC" will not stop at v1.9 or be replaced by "C++ MC" any time soon.

Both FtB and Curse Voice launcher work perfectly fine on Win 10 since early February when I started testing games with the tech preview, so you don't have to give up playing modded MC.
