I managed to google a lot of posts like this but non that answer my question (especially since the question is per-person).
PC Specs (That matter):
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45
GPU: MSI RX480 8gb 1.3GHz
CPU: i7-4790 3.6GHz
Ram: 16gb Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz
Running from 128gb SSD

I wont go far as to say this is a "high end" pc, however, with a 300 dollar intel cpu, and brand new rx480 (that I got a few days ago) with 16gb of ram, i still find issues playing FTB Infinity (Havent tried other packs and am not interested in doing so).

I've allocated anywhere from 2gb upto 8gb (probably too much) and non of the adjustments in ram allocation seem to help, don't even have a sweetspot.
Optifine is horrendous in its compatibility with ftb.. id rather steer clear, however when I did attempt using it, it showed little to no difference give or take 10fps.
Have updated drivers.
Have java 64bit

I suppose im asking is there anything obvious with my pc build that stands out as being "obvious" to attributing to a lesser/poor fps avg in FTB, if not, I need to find a way to make the game palyable, I have so many hours put into the game and its just getting too unbearable.
PS: Ive looked and no block/object in game is single-handedly causing anything like a memory leak or anything of sorts

The first question I would have is what is your CPU doing? Are you maxing out one of the cores? If so you might consider breaking out of the SSP into a dedicated server and client.

Aha, If I ran a dedicated server for myself it would allow me to utilize one cpu core for the server and one for my actual client I play on correct? If so I will definitely attempt that

edit: What would the ram reccomendation for such setup look like? Would 2gb for the server and 2-4gb client I play on be okay? not sure how the distribution of ram should look like in such scenario, it'll be just me playing, so no worries of other people hoggin/needing more memory

Client should be about 3-4 GB for Infinity or large 1.7.10 pack. The server should be about 3 GB as well maybe a little less for a single player to use.

I have a less than optimal PC especially when considering the hog that Minecraft is, and I have seen dramatic performance increases when I run a server on one thread and my client on another. My game will never run smoothly with what I have currently, but splitting the load between cores has helped make things bearable.

I can't wait until Mojang starts addressing issues like this one. On the plus side, it looks like Win10beta will miss out on a lot of poor programming.

Minecraft is a hog. Infinity is a hog. Together they eat most computers alive.

The thing that will help most, is to spread out your base. It'll be more effort to do things, but by breaking things up between several bases, you'll reduce rendering necessary, and thus reduce system load. Chunk load the bits, but trust me, it'll help immensely not having everything all jammed together.
