In my current instance I am running Gregtech 3.05e. I am also running underground biomes and biomes o'plenty and a ton of other mods similar to the resonance rise pack.

Galena and bauxite ore spawns in normal amounts but after having run two full sized quarries with a ton of manual mining to boot I have not found any iridium. I even set the configs to 100% chance for iridium to spawn in a chunk. I don't know yet if there is a problem with the gem ores but I do know that gregtech nether ores are not spawning either.

If anyone has had a similar experience or knows what might be wrong please tell me.

I also checked the changelog on the Gregtech wiki and it said that at least some integration had been provided for underground biomes but I was wondering if maybe it was that which was messing up the iridium spawning (although that still doesn't explain the lack of nether ores so maybe its biomes o plenty but I did a ton of mining in vanilla worldgen mode too. Still no iridium in the overworld.

I haven't seen anything in the changelog about this problem but I was wondering if anyone else knew if this had been fixed in a later version.

Thank you for reading.

By the way, I have just ran a quarry in a test instance that uses the same mods as my real instance but without underground biomes. I am getting Irirdium now. Has anyone got Gregtech to spawn ores with Underground Biomes and might the stuff in the nether be to do with not having enough netherack around or something. (Might be a problem with natura there).

I'm playing with UB and I've got 3 iridium in the box after 7 quarries. I'm not really looking for iridium but its spawns at a ridiculously low rate. If you want to get iridium via mining, I think the End is where you want to go.

I added BoP to my 152 map a couple of days ago its far more interesting now, & went with out a hitch, the random mystcraft ages are now fun to make & investigate, plus I have not gone too far out in the main world so not to many generated chunks, mud items are funny :) make full mud set & equip it no really do it, its cheap & funny.

I know its very rare but I just thought I should have come across some by now. At least its giving me the drive to actually start working with bees!

Are you having problems with the nether ores?

One more question, do you know what version of Gregtech resonant rises actually uses, it doesn't really say on the google+ modlist. (I'm assuming you are on the test server, I am pretty sure I have seen a dimensional door to your base in Kirindave's videos.)

3.08f is the latest GT version.

RR recently pushed 0.9.1, literally 6 hours ago, so that will have the latest GT included.

What's more, Greg ensures backwards compatability so much so as you could use the latest GT build in 1.5.1 if you felt so inclined.
So using the latest GT version is recommended, however he hosts all stable versions further down in his spoiler, so you can get then if a later version adds a new item and therefore a conflict.

He added multiblock Gas turbines :D
And also his own steam turbine, which runs off Forge steam, so either Railcraft, or Aromic Science, or even Ic2 if you have steam reactors enabled.
These turbines have various different rotors types.
For more info he added a new book about them.

That update sounds interesting, thanks for telling me. Hopefully the worldgen quirks are ironed out for that update. I will post here again if world gen is fixed.

He also added Casaderite and Tetrahadrite - Copper and Tin in their proper form essentially, these are so biome dependant, like his other ores. (Yes I spelt those wrong)

No, there are NOT plans on replacing IC2 copper and tin with this stuff, it's extra.

*sigh* last time I heard those two things was in TFC.

...and after he runs out of ideas, my bets on the quantum generator being craftable.

Naw that's Gravisuit.

Speaking of Gravisuit, I REALLY wish he added some trousers and boots, and possibly a helmet other than the Ultimate Solar Helmet, that was in the style if the Gravisuit - ie blue as opposed to green - on white - it's horrible having blue in your chestplate and green on your pants and boots, the helmet CAN be circumvented via the Ult.Solar Helmet, but that's Advanced solars, and also removes the Immante Quantum abilities of auto feeding and poisen cure, so isn't a valid replacement.
