A meme of sorts? Ah, didn't realise that, partly due to how varied the nationality of the community is here, so racial comments can be very serious.

I see that LawBroken disapproves, and will stop posting in this thread, sorry for contributing to this problem, your job as moderator must be hard enough as it is without people who have some sort of sense causing problems also. Mind you, everyone in this thread normally is pretty sensible, so I'm suprised at our rebellious nature.

This is a first. A thread about gregtech that got warned by a moderator for something besides personal attacks!

I mean..as long as you're not instigating, you're fine.
And, I'm not sure if you've gone into a thread about anything GT or RP2 with a few people here...it gets kinda fun (for me, cause I just watch, everyone else gets hurt feelings which makes it funnier for me), but I'd still say this is the sensible half of the forms. Have you been to a flame war? Most are locked/deleted, but there are several floating around.

I have read through many, spoken occasionally and unfortunately have had several very interesting threads turned into them, but yes, it's hard to find a forum WITHOUT flaming if some kind, however the moderators here are so good that the only few left are those that contain factual information, usually near the start of the thread.
Quite a nice system, people know that flame doesn't end well, yet the forum isn't flooded with it.

And yes, people do o ly tend to go off topic In games, but, isn't that the whole purpose of most games?

Last I seen you didn't have MODERATOR under your name.
When you're talking in your "mod text" I really shouldn't make jokes...should I?
Last I seen you didn't have MODERATOR under your name.
That's better.

Not trying to usurp your rule or ridicule you...but I thought this was kinda funny, even in the serious context. Heh...eheh...[DOUBLEPOST=1368750545][/DOUBLEPOST]

I like when people go off topic, personally. I learn new stuff a lot of the time, and it's useless to yell at people to stay on topic, because internet-goers have the attention span of a fly.
Not even one of those big nasty flies, a fruit fly.

I've been in a few flame wars, probably even started a few, but they sure are funny. Although they degrade the reputation of this site, me, and FTB, so I TRY to stay out of them...

So not like swarming a pigs head, that's stuck into the ground via a stick sharpened at both ends, whilst a a young boy is hallucinating about fear, death and pain?
Not those lordly flies?

I READ THAT!

Now that book was creepy and all *metaphorical*. I know humans are gonna kill themselves...but a book about kids?

Agreed :p
I think someone should have an off topic thread in FTB general chat because really people don't go to off topic chat really except for games. At least I don't

I really like this idea.

On other hand i think my first opinion about GT is slowly changing (Just don't tell anyone) ;)

The fact that they were kids summed up William Goldings impression of the world leaders in WW2.
Holding himself actually fought in this war, and the book is said to represent the falling into anarchy with a rather unexpectedly sudden resolution, which results in the axis (Jack) denying that they were the reason for all the deaths.
Ralph was the ally leaders, seemed strongest, everyone liked him, eventual the axis conquered almost everyone, and in the end the leaders were quick to say that's its because of them that they won.

And so on and so forth. That's a basic look at one influence of war , and a possible full representation of the entire book. Apparently the movie has them all as from Colorado instead if being British, and Jack isn't ginger, despitehus red hair being proclaimed several times. The book is pretty interesting for those who haven't read it;
Lord of The Flies

If you want to regain your rage, check out how he has machines consume MJ. They never turn down their "energy requested" but instead light on fire and explode if overprovided. So you must have some sort of shutoff logic for MJ powered machines or they wil blow up spectacularly. On the plus side, they don't have voltages and don't lose work.

But he's basically making it impossible to reuse ANY existing boiler network with his machines. :D

There was an off topic thread in general FTB chat, by Poppycocks, but it was locked for some reason. If you allow us to make one, make sure only Poppy makes it, all the other ones are secondary.

No you don't understand. You do not understand. Even throttled down to 5 mj/t, the machine will explode.. You need to stop providing it any power at all or it will blow up.

Think about this for a second. This means that you have to use a sticky piston or something to totally remove the machine from the network. Because if anyone else is doing work, it'll explode.

I have come to the conclusion that Greg is a psychotic edit.

You have to admire and adore the way things explode if you leave them out in the rain though, I think IC2 should have had this itself, I dislike people with a mud hit building machines before houses, rain should be more than an annoying sound effect that stops zombies despawning.

Things like the macerator diamonds only make sense with pulveriser diamond also on, but neither really matters, quartz grinder means that one never has to smelt an ore, ever. Even Aluminum (xycraft spelling) can be induction smelted now.

He also buffs lava, which is rather funny.

He adds lots of cool new power gen and storage.
I love being able to use creosote for power, without needing 34 ovens going to fuel a boiler off it.
Also, the distillation tower is considerably more efficient for biomass-fuel, but requires too much chrome for something fm at that tier of the game.

So many things, so little attention span :/
