Greg Tech Makes Tinkers Construct Bad

Now, I know for myself, that I use Tinkers Construct very early on. See the thing about it. With Greg tech. You need a compressor to make most of the modifiers work.

My suggestion, make instead of a block of Redstone. Just 10 redstone.

Or maybe make TC where if Greg Tech is on, TC turns off the blocks of gems.

Because I know early on when I start with TC. I don't even have power.

Please don't get mad about this, just an opinion.

Umm you don't HAVE to use blocks of redstone or lapis to modify your tools. You can just use redstone dust or lapis gems , it just takes more clicking

I don't thing old Greg did that on purpose to nerf Tinkers...
I'm not sure what Greg's rationale for forcing the requirement for compressing storage blocks but it wasn't to nerf Tinkers Construct as it's been like that for ages before TC was added.
Then again Greg nerfing powers might be that strong that he can nerf thing that he does not yet need to... He's a scary one that.

I'm not sure what Greg's rationale for forcing the requirement for compressing storage blocks but it wasn't to nerf Tinkers Construct as it's been like that for ages before TC was added.

It's been that way for a /long/ time, and the claimed purpose is realism -- there's not much cause behind a compressor if you could squeeze that much metal down with your bare hands.

Then again Greg nerfing powers might be that strong that he can nerf thing that he does not yet need to... He's a scary one that.

On the other hand, it does avoid a number of the most severe duplication issues in things like Ars Magica. So you never know.

pretty sure there's a config option for that in gregtech to turn default shaped crafting back on for blocks, though im not savvy enough to provide the details.

You have to type or copy-paste the appropriate true/false for EACH block to be able to craft it and a separate option to "decraft" it... That's if you even find the right .cfg... (It's AdvancedRecipesConfig FYI.).
I admire it's robust level of customization but it would be much appreciated if there was a overriding option NormalStorageBlocks=True.

But TBH the whole point of GregTech is to make playing IC2 as painful as possible.
Sort of like putting sand in your Vaseline...
So I think it's a little unfair to expect a sadist like Greg to let us make his mod easier as it goes against his very principals. So I don't expect it nor would I implore him to...
It would be nice though...

Or you use one of several hundred available freeware texteditors that are actually worth that name and get the whole thing done in a matter of seconds. I do agree, though, a 'general' setting would be nice.

I use Notepad++ But when you don't have it It's pain in the ass to configure.

And I'm sure Greg's really a nice bloke in reality (after he's nerfed the bejesus out of you with his nerf gladiator batons of course.)
