Hey all,

My name is Ritual, I am an English guy living in Ireland. I've only played vanilla MC up to this point really, but we have just set up another MC server running FTB... I am looking forward to seeing what I can come up with.

So far, I have found out about ComputerCraft and gone a bit mad with that... I've also learned that the wiki is invaluable, and have it up on my second screen at all times.

If anyone else has any tips for where to get started, I am happy to hear them! Most of my builds and adventures will end up documented on our YouTube channel, I should imagine!

Welcome to FTB! Hope you have a great time here.

I think that watching mod spotlights is helpful. I would recommend picking one mod to start with, like Buildcraft, Industrialcraft, or Thermal Expansion, and build up an infrastructure with it. After building up some machines and tools, expand out to other mods.

You came to FTB the week before 1.6 comes out, which means that FTB will update soon too. So any world you build is not long for this world, unfortunately. However, you can look at this as an opportunity to just experiment without many consequences.
