Hello, my name is Ben. I've been watching a lot of FTB on Youtube lately and decided to give it a go. I read somewhere on the forum to pick either IC2 or Buildcraft to start out with so I've decided to go the route of IC2. Any tips on getting started and especially how get a good start on building an automated mining system? Thanks

Welcome to the forums. Ash has good advice, but you will have to watch either the older videos, or the brand new forgecraft 2 videos that are coming out right now. Dire went through a period of not really liking IC2 for about nine months to a year, so most of the recent videos don't use it much. He seems to be getting over that and going back to IC2 now.

Herro and welcome to the forums. I'd recommend watching some channels like etho's and the other mindcrack peoples as well as some streams if you have the time so your builds don't end up being nine by nines.
