51 debian is a linux distribution that is totaly open source and by default only comes with open source software. for example iceweasle (the clone for firefox) or openjdk(java). I like to keep it this way but I do not care if it is not always possible or the best thing to do.

58 *sigh* I wish my Mac had a good package manager. Apple seems to go pretty far out of their way to make it hard to install third-party software.

57 apt-get works in debian, until you want non open source drivers then it doesn't check your xorg version and at least in my case I ended up with out a GUI.

57 I have no right to say yes or no in that regard as I never used an apple product.

58 OSX's GUIs, at least (never used an iPhone or similar, so I can't speak for iOS) work very well, in my opinion. Much better than Windoze.
