85 no, not really. The program stills run on the desktop, it is just that the x server the program uses is the one from your laptop and as x doesn't do sound....
Maybe I need to look into a way to tunnel pulseaudio through ssh as well.

90 Because I permanently have a terminal open, so opening man is just like 8-10 keystrokes, whereas asking Google takes a bunch of GUI interaction and leaves me with yet another browser tab.
