Honestly, I can't blame you, even if they are basically the dwarves' staple crop. They grow fast, even underground; they can grow all year-round; you can cook them or eat them raw; and you can brew them into Dwarven wine... but not being a dwarf, I don't think I'd want to spend my days eating mushrooms and booze.
