What is the bug? When you open a crafting table empty, it craft a diamond you can take it.
As the screenshot show it :

Is it repeatable? Create a new world, craft a crafting table than open it, you get the diamond.

We were going to add dirt to diamonds but felt that it needed a boost so removed the dirt component.

Serious answer though, there is an Agricraft minetweakers script to add a diamond shards to diamond recipe, because you removed agricraft the input component of that script is missing. To fix, re-add Agricraft (or remove that script). You're likely to have other odd recipes as a result of removing mods though.
