Hi all, I ran into a small problem. I used a QuarryPlus to mine out a relatively big chunk where I'm planning to make a big construction down to bedrock. However at some point the quarry hit water and now a great deal of the pit is filled with water source blocks (not just flowing water). What's the easiest way to get rid of all that water? I can of course manually get rid of it but that's annoying as it is a rather big pit.

Thanks

If we are talking more than 4x4 chunks, then probably use a filler and sand. If smaller area or just isolated areas a Shovel of the Earthmover and some sand/dirt will clear a lot of water really fast.

Aha that's an idea! I have OpenBlocks. Thanks for that suggestion.

You could also try making a quarry at the same position with the same dimensions again, but this time you put a PumpPlus next to it. The Quarry should then clear all liqudis and build construction frames in the Quarry hole where liquids could flow into the mining area.

Could also try Openblocks "Sponge"
I've tried to do that before, if you have a big flooded area that is extremely tediuos. Make sure to plug all walls, use a filler to fill it and clear it. Alternatively you can try the Mariculture mechanized sponge if you have it in the pack. It is made just for that. Personally I haven't used it so far tough.

Use the void sigil from blood magic

That would take forever. OpenBlocks sponges, RotaryCraft pumps, MFFS, or even a filler would be better for a large area. And even then, the sponge would take a while.

A few rituals will eventually come to Blood Magic which will allow syphoning surrounding fluids into a sigil that holds them. The sigil in question is still a bit finicky, so hasn't been added as of yet.

Also need a good algorithm for the syphoning of the fluids. Don't want it to just reach through a wall and take the water source blocks from your Aqueous Accumulator, now, do we?

The fun I could have with that on a server...

Not unless we can place the water back behind someones walls :P

Openblock sponge + TiCo Drawbridge.

Also in terms of the filler, can you fill it with whatever block? (like sponges?)

Oooh if its DW20, then sit on the edge with a Gravigun and shoot out Sponges :P Could be fun

Yeah, it just replaces every space in the area with whatever you feed it =)
But as the second step is running it in clear mode which destroys everyting you should use something that you don't care about (aka cobble or dirt).

You could always just leave the water because it benefits you by turning lava to obsideon and the water doesn't really affect the quarry. If you are planning on putting something in the quarry hole then just pipe with {IC2 Pipe,BC Pipe,Mekanism Pipe etc....} just remember to put multiple pipes down so the source doesn't refresh.

Think you need to re-read the OP :P

In that case disregard the first thing I said and read the second :P
