Get mystcraft to work with the Mindcrack pack?

In version 7 I had added mystcraft manually and it worked just fine. When I try to add it now it crashes my minecraft when I try and load a world. Is it not compatible with the forge version or something? Does someone know how I can get this to work?

My Mindcrack server runs Mystcraft just fine (v8)

We can't really help without more information as to the nature of the crash.

Nevermind it was a problem with optifine not mystcraft, fixed it and all is working well.

TBH, Optifine is a PITA if you don't need it 100%. It just messes with a bunch of stuff. For example, BuildCraft lasers.
