Ok so i have watched a few tutorials on Gendustry and they just seem confusing to me. I am wondering how do i obtain better traits for my tropical bees? Do i extract new traits from the drones i have currently?
More bees is kinda super-meh. If you actually have the option, binnie's is excellent. That said, binnie's may not be available yet in later versions.Ok also another thing, as far as addon mods go which is best binnies mod or more bees? Seems like they are incompatible with each other, Which the issue has been posted. Or as far as the bees go are they about the same?
If you search the Google machine for "forestry bee traits" there is a good chart out there that shows all the vanilla bees and their traits. You can go hunt for and bread what you need, get them automated so you get lots of drones then strip them for the traits you want. If memory serves wintery bees also have fertility 4. Get that 1st and apply it to everything you make. Just remember to apply traits to the drone AND the princess after the 1st die off. Applying it to a brand new queen will not guarantee results.
not sure if this is what you're asking, but the temp/humidity preferences for bees are static for their breed, they don't change. What you can tweak is "tolerances" for those.Ok now im trying for temp and humid trait, I have temp and humid tht says none. Is that what Im looking for?

@Pyure's got it here - the tolerance is how many steps away in a particular direction the bees will accept, from the preference they have. So "none" Temperature and Humidity means that they won't accept any temperature or humidity other than their own. The direction is determined by whether its "Up", "Down", or both. if it was "Up 2", the bee would accept its default temperature as well as two temperature steps higher. If it was "Down 1", it would accept the default and the temperature step below. If its "Both 3" then it can accept temperatures up to three steps up or three steps down from its default. The same thing holds true for Humidity - though I don't think there are as many humidity stages?not sure if this is what you're asking, but the temp/humidity preferences for bees are static for their breed, they don't change. So if you wanted to keep something like Modest bees in a Plains home, you'd want to have -1 tolerance for heat.
