And you think such a machine has exposed wires? The superconducting coils are VERY well insulated. You know, with all the liquid helium and stuff you don't really want to get your tongue stuck on an uninsulated exposed piece of metal :)

Who said its the superconductor itself that's exposed?

Expose the LHC to rain, or just the elements in general and it will stop working. Potentially to damaging results.

Or people can stop acting like they're not expected to modify the configs.

I think that the expectation is that the default configs are what the more public servers will be using and should therefore be reflective of settings that are accessible and interesting for as many users as possible.

FTB is designed and configured around their challenge maps, not actual play much less multiplayer servers.

Although, I don't understand why you're using so many routers. You should need only two.

Because they are combination Thorium / Plutonium reactors, so 1 router per inventory slot, to insure the different slots get the correct component type

The idea of that is very outdated. I expect that a separate pack with specific configs will be used for the challenge map they make if they ever have the time to make one. I would be surprised if they did try to make it work with one of the modpacks.

It is quite widely known that they attempt to balance the pack based on what they feel best for the majority of the play the pack will receive. They quite obviously care about servers because not only do many of them play the packs on servers but went out of their way to make server downloads for the packs.

Everything they do points to caring about balance of the packs in standard survival(MP as well) but that does not limit it to survival. I could still be wrong and they are instead of basing the map around the current balance of one of the packs which would be the best of both worlds.

They were, sure. Not since the update, and certainly not for only 160EU/t

That zero chamber I posted gets 100EU/t at effic 3.3. It can be up/down/sidegraded to 120EU/t at effic 2.5 by using quad uranium.

The idea of that is very outdated.

And your expectations don't necessarily drive other people to design around them. A server, in particular, should expect to make config tweaks in modded minecraft and users should be expected to install config overwrites from that server. FTB doesn't change that. Pull up notepad and be glad you don't have to keep up with the mod updates themselves, or deal with blockId/item id conflicts.

Only if you mean "not making a single config change for mods outside of block and item ids" as "doing".

Most servers will take the package out of the box and use it. Same way it was done for tekkit and the like. It's far too cumbersome to try and make what you expect servers to do happen. This is a Mojang problem though.

I lol'd.
