Hi all.

The past days I have been setting a FTB Unleashed server up with endless problems to count. I have fixed most of them and down to 1 that I'm no expert at.

The problem is my ping for the FTB server its at 400ms - 600ms and sometimes it goes above that and I have no Idea why. I created a vanilla server and the ping was 120ms- 160ms and never lagged at all. I'm Using tick threading as well for most threads to work with each other.

Conf file used to launch the server with multicraft
## To create a custom config for a mod create a file with the same name

Using this website I have pinged the sever IP. I cant ping my FTB server tho since it wont ping the port. I'm getting about 140ms when I ping the server without the port or just vanilla minecraft. When its FTB it goes up to 400ms - 600ms
I get the same behaviour on my server, I think the Minecraft ping is just not accurate. Either that or I don't understand how pings work. I thought a ping was measuring the latency between two computers and was independent of any services running on those machines, such as Minecraft.

That's a handy site. Apparently Ukraine gets 80% packet loss to my server! The more you know.

The port doesn't matter, you will get the same ping for all ports on the same address. Is it high everywhere when you ping it or just for you?

The minecraft ping is not accurate, the ping doesn't ping the ip it send it to minecraft which processes it then sends it back so if there is any in game lag the ping it tells you is off however the real ping is unaffected.
