I'm using FTB Unhinged with a couple mods added in, and the game keeps crashing after the Mojang screen.

A crash report in case it helps:

Both of you please start with this
Please read below. Please be sure to read all of the info available in the 2 articles.
Please follow these steps exactly: http://desk.feed-the-beast.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/9/0/basic-troubleshooting
This is to rule out any issues with your setup. Please also read the extra info at the bottom of the guide, and apply all applicable suggestions.

Please post your complete client-side (launcher) console log in debug-mode to pastebin.com and link your paste URL here.
To find your logs and prevent them from expiring: http://desk.feed-the-beast.com/inde...29/1/what-log-do-you-need-where-can-i-find-it
Also, back up your Minecraft folder (vanilla) and delete the Minecraft files as well.

So...you're basically saying the equivalent of turning everything off and back on?
Doesn't seem very helpful, but heck, I'll try it anyway.

Not really, it's more of a: I need a baseline, that I can track.

Call it what you want. :/

All I had to do was remove Optifine from my .jar and everything now works perfectly fine.
No reinstalling Java or restarting your computer or deleting .Library files or anything silly like that necessary.

I knew I couldn't rely on Tech Support for anything >.<
Turn everything off and back on again....yeah right. Why not just have a bot that parrots that message on every support page? It'll save you some time, and it'll certainly save you the bother of copy&pasting it over and over.

If you think you can provide a better quality service to the entire community, then you do it.

Neither of you mentioned adding Optifine, and the original log posted did not have any information pointing to Optifine.

Having no technical or coding experiences whatsoever, I decided that consulting a Tech Support was the way to go to solve my problem.
I expected an actual answer that would direct me to the source of the problem, not a copy&pasted message of trashing everything and re-installing it back again.

I've had troubles working with Optifine and Forge at the same time in the past, so I suspected this was the problem. And it was.
I didn't have to waste 30 minutes of my life deleting everything and downloading it right back again, an unnecessary nightmare especially for someone with slow Internet.

What I'm trying to get here is: I expected an actual damn answer that would guide me to the problem (is that too much to ask?), not the stereotyped as well as unhelpful "try turning it off and back on again."

First step you ALWAYS take when trying to solve a problem: troubleshoot.

What I'm trying to get here is: I expected a thoughtful answer that would guide me to the problem, not the stereotyped as well as unhelpful "try turning it off and back on again."
You can't receive guidance if I don't know what I'm working with. You provided just the crash log. From that I can tell: the stacktrace, your OS and your Java verison. I can't tell if there's any other errors being thrown from it, or if there are any other issues with the installation you have.
If I wanted to remove a malware from my computer, I'd want to be told specifically what to do in order to fix it, not to nuke it entirely and reformat it
You're comparing apples to oranges.

When you call the tech support guys that get paid, they first start with a myriad of basic steps. Why? Because they can't be sure you've done them. If your problem persists after going through the simple things, they know where to go from there

I seriously doubt that the only way to troubleshoot is to scrap everything and start over -- well, at least in my experience, not all solutions to problems were wiping out everything and starting over.

From what I could research, this is a pretty common issue; maybe you can take notes from this?

You're comparing apples to oranges.
And how am I doing that?
You just told me to uninstall and reinstall everything Java. That's not a good idea for a Mac user.

I've contacted plenty of tech support guys in the past, and they've all been much more helpful than this.
An unhelpful delete-everything-and-start-over and a defensive rant that follows afterwards....not the best tech support guy (or gal) that I've met.
