FTB Sky Factory 2.5 Help Needed - Applied Energistics

So I've got ME system set up and running, but I'm having issues connecting machines from other mods to it. My main concern in my mob farm. I'm using a grinder from MineFactory Reloaded and I can't get anything to pull the items out and dump them into the ME. I'm using basic ME glass cable to connect everything. I was thinking an ME Export Bus would do the trick, but it just tells me the device is offline and I don't know enough about Applied Energistics to maybe fix that. I have everything connected properly, I just don't know what to do from here. Help please?

Try to first put a buffer chest and then a port on it :)

I'm sorry, but can you please elaborate? I truly am pretty new to applied energistics and am a little surprised I've made it this far on my own. Do you mean an ME IO port or Spatial IO port?

Im a ae noob lol i dont know but maybe the export bus you just used? Sorry no idea

device is offline? hmm did you hook up a energy acceptor to the cables?
EDIT : the port he meant is a import bus. peeps around here like to say buses as ports and vice versa

If you want to take items from a chest to your ME sustem you need an Import bus.

ME glass cable and ME smart cable can carry 8 channels, every block that stores or moves items (interface, disk drive, import and export busses) use one channel. Dense cable can carry 32 channels.

Here is a video about the channels,

Thank you so much for this video. It actually helped me out a lot and I've got everything working perfectly now. Thanks again!
