Please, I don't mean to start a fight of some sort here, but, does anyone think some of the names of the packs like Tech World and Magic World are bad names? Personally, thats the one thing the Technic people are good at. I just don't think the names of those FTB packs are really creative. Names like Tekkit and Yogbox and such catch peoples eyes, while Magic World and Tech World don't in my opinion. Ultimate I don't think is a bad name, and Mindcrack and Direwolf make since for their packs, but Magic World and Tech World are kind of forgotten about by a lot of people because they play on Ultimate, Mindcrack, and Direwolf because you get both types of mods. But, if they had more appealing names, people may fell more interested.

I think Tech World and Magic World's lack of popularity is due to people wanting the best of both worlds, not the name. I'm a large MagiTech fan and I feel like Minecraft is a MagiTech world. Vanilla redstone is pretty much magic used as technology. When I run servers for my friends I go for Ultimate so there's something for everyone.
I could honestly care less about the names of the packs. I do care about however, the content of the packs. The only reason why the names 'Tekkit' and 'YogBox' catch people is because those packs have existed for quite a while and are promoted by people like the YogsCast..
The names are descriptive and utilitarian. You can see a pack and instantly say "aha, that's the one. Who needs magic anyway?"
It makes more sense, as you don't have to do senseless research about a pack you probably won't play.

Yogbox Pack isn't Technic's it's the Yogscast, but I do agree with you the modpacks that the Technic guys think of are really creative.

But the reason Ultimate is popular is because it is basilcy everything they have. So people can grab that and just remove the mods the don't like and are done.
The rest of the named packs mostly came with a user base all ready. Direwolf20, Mindcrack, and Yogcraft all had viewers in youtube so many go for those packs because that's what they watch.
Magic world and Tech world suffer from having no prebuilt users and linger in the shadow of Ultimate because with Ultimate you just have more options even if you just DL Ultimate and remove half the mods. It is much easier for a server to tell its users. DL Ultimate and remove this stuff and your good to go then it is for them to tell someone DL Magic World nor go get these other mods and add them.

You do have a point. But now my question is, why are they going to make Magic World 2 and Tech World 2 if no one will use them? If they want people to use them, they need to put mods in it that aren't in Ultimate.

Note: I know for a fact that the Yogscast made it because I was a fanboy when it came out. At first the modpack had it's on launcher/ModPack installer when Technic Pack came out the it got on the Technic Launcher.

Adaptation is a stupid name and makes no sense for the movie, but that movie is awesome.
