FTB launcher window doesn't display modpacks

My friend is having a problem where when he opens FTB in the mods section there is nothing displayed. This only seems to happen after the first time he runs the .exe and as such he has to re-download every time he exits.
If anyone knows offhand how to fix this plz let me know

Does your friend have his launcher installed in a path with special characters?

Not sure
