I uninstalled the FTB launcher.(I had the .jar one) When I went to install it again, it glitched on me. I tryed a couple of time then went to google, then here, then to youtube. Found nothing that could help. I did, however, find a link(http://desk.feed-the-beast.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/9/0/basic-troubleshooting) TRUST ME. I tried SOOOO many time to try to get it to work. followed that whole list STEP BY STEP. I did not get it to work. Yes, I tried it with both .jar and .exe and neither worked. I was getting kind of angry. This has never happened before. I can't see how the internet could be having an impact on this, as it never has in the past. I have tried many different things. Both from here, and google/youtube. None have worked so far. I am hoping I can get this all figured out by posting this.

BTW, here is what the console says:

I tried to update straight to 1.1.7, and after doing the stuff on the list above, I tried just going simply to 1.1.4 but it didn't want to work for me.

The modpack did not download properly which antivirus software are you using? Some of them are known to cause errors in downloading and installing the launcher. Check out the same guide you linked for a quick list of some of them in the 'Other USEFUL Information:' first paragraph. If you are using one of those you can try temporarily disabling the antivirus or adding an exception to the modpack folder on your desktop in your antivirus.

Also be sure to follow the guide carefully and make sure you are installing the pack to a folder on your desktop without any special characters in it, something like FTB works.

Ok, so im fairly certain this is a hosting failure, where whatever site/server is hosting the map download is down. Anyone know anything about that?

The same thing's also happening to me- for some reason the launcher's black for a long time, then when it finally does load there are no modpacks, and all it says are "Please wait while mods are being loaded..."

I can provide a launcher log if wanted.

Wow. Everyone please if this does not fix your problem start a new thread. And please do not bump the thread the people who help here do not live on these forums. We help when we can. I am not going to watch or reply to this thread any more. So IF YOU WANT TO GET FURTHER HELP START A NEW THREAD. There are just too many people with problems to make it work. Thank you and have a happy holiday if you celebrate any at this time.

okay I'm having this problem as well, any help?
If it is the same problem please try the soulution provided and if it does not fix it please start a new thread so we can help everyone without a long thread and someone's post getting lost or over looked.

I am having something like that but it says
Failed to read modpack file - falling back to direct download: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\legomasternck\AppData\Roaming\ftblauncher\ModPacks\modpacks.xml (The system cannot find the file specified)
Add an exception to your antivirus program for the folder listed above, C:\Users\legomasternck\AppData\Roaming\ftblauncher, this should fix the error if it does not please start a new thread so we can help everyone without a long thread and someone's post getting lost or over looked.

bump[DOUBLEPOST=1385501882][/DOUBLEPOST]Is anyone even there?
Please do not bump the thread. The last post was only a few minutes before you bumped it. I and the other people who help here do not live on these forums and you also have to remember that it is around the holidays and we may be able to help less for that reason.

YES! same problem!
Could not save style: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\InSoMniiA\AppData\Roaming\ftblauncher\launcher_styles\defaultStyle.cfg (The system cannot find the path specified)
Add an exception to your antivirus program for the folder listed above, C:\Users\InSoMniiA\AppData\Roaming\ftblauncher\, this should fix the error if it does not please start a new thread so we can help everyone without a long thread and someone's post getting lost or over looked.

I am also have the same problem. Someone help!
Again please do not bump threads. Especially if it has only been a few minutes. Look above for a possible fix. If it does not fix your problem please create a new thread and link to a pastebin.com of your console log.

Ok, so im fairly certain this is a hosting failure, where whatever site/server is hosting the map download is down. Anyone know anything about that?
Not sure about that. All the error and console logs have been about the antivirus program not allowing the user to download the pack/launcher files.

I get this error trying to connect to a server:
2013-11-26 22:26:56 [INFO] [STDERR] java.lang.NullPointerException

Thank you for using pastebin.com, but this is a completely different error please start a new thread with the info you posted here.

The same thing's also happening to me- for some reason the launcher's black for a long time, then when it finally does load there are no modpacks, and all it says are "Please wait while mods are being loaded..."

I can provide a launcher log if wanted.
Please do provide a console log in a new thread after following this guide exactly.
