FTB keeps downloading modpacks twice to desktop

I downloaded FTB and tried to play yogcraft. Ftb was in a folder in my documents. When I went to launch Yogcraft it downloaded all the files to my desktop. I figured that was weird. Then when I went to launch it later it started to download the modpack again. Plus it does the same thing when I move the files from my desktop to the same folder.

Is there a way to get all the files off of my desktop?
Also why is it downloading packs over and over again?

Follow this guide exactly install FTB the recommended way. This will solve the problem of the files on your desktop and may also fix the downloading of packs again. If it does not fix the second problem please post a console log in debug mode to pastebin.com and link it here. Here is the guide to help with that.
