** Im posting this here because I have tried asking in the tech support forums but every time I try and post it says there was a error **

I own a infinity server that I use for me and my friends and for some reason, only at night time around 5 to 8 pm EST till about 5 or 6 AM est my infinity server CPU will be using 60% to 100%
When its not in that 11 ish hours period the CPU will run at about 5% to 30%.

AT night there can be 0 to 3 people on the server and we will still get the 60 to 100% with noticeable lag.
During the day there has been up to 10 members on and its only ran at 30%.

I have also checked and all the machines, ender quarry's, power generation, run the same at night and day.

Im really stumped because there is no difference that I can find between night and day

Server Info:
Processor: Xeon E5-2670 v2
Ram: 4 GB
OS: Windows Server 2012 R2
Server Provider: Amazon Web Services, package t2.medium with 60 GB SSD

I have no idea if this is related or not, this post came up in google when I googled my problem, but I am experiencing *severe* graphics lag during the night.

Running a server on another computer, tps is solid 20 during the day, drops to 16-18 during night, but the real problem is the client computer, fps drops to ~1-4 whenever I encounter more than a handful of entities during the night.

This only happens at night. No idea what is causing it and can't pinpoint it.

If I /time add until it's mid-morning, the problem disappears - back to full FPS and full tickrate. So maybe it's something that only spawns at night?

Running Infinity whatever the latest one is. No Optifine. (Tried with and without Optifine - problem seems worse with Optifine but I might be imagining it). FastCraft enabled.

I would think it is caused by a problem in the nearby area of a base of a player who's playing habits fit those times. His base could be chunk loaded, but when he is online his personal chunk loading range covers a larger area, which includes the trouble area.

I have in the past seen things like this happen with too many confined mobs. For example out of control breeding villagers stuck in a house or someone breeding way too many animals in a small pen.

Its mostly the same people in the same area, I wish i knew what the problem is. They dont more around much and even there was 1 quarry running on the server

1. See who was logged on at those times, could narrow down where the problem is if it's a world problem.
2. Check what the server is doing those times. Updating, backing up, virus scanning, power saving?

Are we talking real time or in game time (the /time throws me off) if in game time switch to peaceful when it happens then we know if it has to do with a mob or with something else.

I don't particularly know how AWS servers are, but there are a few thoughts that come to mind. First, it may not be a dedicated server. Second, the server could be hosted out of the states. Third, everything above. More than likely, its a vps and someone from across the pond is also put onto it. That would explain why there are spikes in CPU usage during that time.......because its day where they are ;)

As said, Im not familiar with the AWS products.

@face_of_goat your problem is probably because there is more spawnable area at night(in game). If we had some sort of logs or a mod list or some tech specs, we may be able to help. Unfortunately, this topic is about real time so you may want to make a new topic. Kinda sounds like a mobs mod is installed tho with low specs :/

Those times are also peak internet usage times, it could be your isp doesn't have enough pipelines to meet the demand.
