Hey,
I have a problem with launching FTB. I was starting the launcher, then I created a new profile and started FTB Monster. But the only thing that happens is, that the Modpack is downlaoding, but then the launcher closes but Minecraft does not start. I tried several times, everytime the same.

I hope you can help me.

P.S.: Excuse my english, I'm not a native speaker.

There is a longish period of time between when the launcher 'closes' and the Minecraft window comes up.
Especially the first time you launch it. If you haven't, give it a good long while to load up. If you have... then I'm not helpful for this.

Also, you don't use your FtB username and password in the profile, you use the username and password you registered with Mojang or nothing loads.

This is going to be weirdly specific but do you use AVG for anti-virus? I recently ran into an issue where AVG was killing the entire java process(often just before or just as the client was loading) because a mod was trying to write a timestamp to a .txt file. Getting rid of AVG solved the issue.

There's probably a somewhere to make AVG ignore minecraft. I wouldn't advise removing your anti-virus and/or firewall to just to make your game work.

I use AVG free, and I did have an issue where it would crash as a result. You can go into the settings of AVG and set up an exception for the folder that your monster world is located in - which solved the issue for me

Obviously I didn't remove it and not replacing it with anything. That said, it has caused so many issues with so many games for no apparent reason that were difficult/impossible to even troubleshoot, that this was really the last straw.

I didn't even figure out it was AVG from anything obvious, I had to google the error in the log and it brought me to an entirely different game's support forum where it was causing the exact same error message.

Free anti-malware is free...

I use what is now called Microsoft Defender (used to be Security Essentials) which is also free, but catches most simple stuff and is the most transparent and least obtrusive AV software I've seen. It's also written by the people who theoretically know more about Windows internals than anyone else.

For the things it misses, like these web pages that pop up saying "We've detected malware on your system!!! Send us $50 and we'll clean you out up while you're on-line", I use Malwarebytes. It catches everything else, including amorphous virii... So far.
