Hello everybody!
I'm looking for new build ideas for my FTB singleplayer world, and I am finding ideas here and there, so I wanted to create a place where a large list of build ideas could be created. Basically, post any ideas of systems or creations, either general or specific! (this can be with any of the mods in FTB packs, but preferably with mods either in the Ultimate or Direwolf20 pack)
Here are some more obvious/basic ones: (also to be used as examples)
-Sorting system (redpower 2 or buildcraft diamond pipes)
-Mining setup (either buildcraft quarry or redpower 2 frames)
-Lava power supply (either magmatic engines for MJ or geothermal generators for EU)
-Monster farm (soul shards)
and so on...
All ideas are appreciated!

OMG no use Applied Energistics it's much more fun and durable.

you forgot Blutricity (solar or thermopile) + bt-engine.

BC-energy without any fuel consumption.
How exactly do you get Buildcraft energy with no fuel consumption? The only way that I am aware of is using IC2 solar panels and then using electrical engines. It does give free energy and I use that setup but I have discovered that the resources needed to create enough solar panels to run the engines 24/7 is terrible.

RP wind turbine > RP blulectric engine > redstone energy cell > BC = no fuel consumption

Blulectric Engine can convert RP2 Blutricity straight to MJ, then you can use stacked thermopiles, RP2 Windmill's/Solar Turbines or Solar Panels to produce renewable blutricity, which you then convert to MJ using the Blulectric Engine. The blulectric engine also has a pretty high max MJ output, bigger than 50 MJ/t IIRC. The problem is managing large amounts of Blutricity is a daunting task, and the resource expenditure plus the space required for the setup, might make it not worth it, especially if you're looking to get MJ's in the hundreds.

Omicron wrote a good guide to converting RP2 Blutricity over to MJ, if you're interested, you should check it out. It's here. http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/a-players-guide-to-redpower-2-blutricity.6363/

I'm with Lambert. These posts were gone for a long time, now they're going to start coming back.

Ok... are you saying that these are bad? I dont quite get your point...

Thank you for this, I was un-aware that there was a blultricity engine :p

I'm repeating the suggestion i made in another thread: A thread like this should be made into a sticky so that people looking for cool and nifty ideas could just browse the stickied thread instead of making a new one each time.

oh, and the electrical engine from forestry is missing too.

set up a nuclear reactor, store EU in MFE, MFSU, or so: and if you need BC-energy... run a few forestry electric engines.
