Hello all, i have played loads of mod packs from ftb and FTB Beyond is the one i really like atm, and its the only reason why i joined here on forums. I never had so many issues with any of previous mod packs i have played so i didnt have need to do this. But just today i ran into few (for me) game breaking bugs, reported already some with crash logs and some without. Basicly i am not sure if i will continue playing it so i do not waste my time and effort. I understand that devs do thier best to keep us all happy and try to minimise issues that can happend, you have my respect but it was never like this atleast in my ftb experience. Also one of the mods i use the most and like a lot is making me problems in this pack, what can be seen in my crash reports. Final thing keep up good work and hopefully someday ftb beyond will be playable.... p.s. sorry for grammar mistakes because English is not my mother language and its first time for me to make any threads on ftb forums.

Perhaps you'd be better off sticking with a more stable 1.7.10 pack until this one has time to mature.

i will probably stick to dw20, i like how he updates mod pack quite often and reducing chance for bugs to appear

Give it a chance. Beyond has been out less than a month (and possibly a bit early due to peasants at the castle wall with pitchforks, or at least it seemed that way to me :D )

Also, since Direwolf20 is using many of the same mods as Beyond you might see some of the same issues, although Dire does show problems and work-arounds in his videos.

Beyond is very unstable to my knowledge, and I was having lag issues while I was playing, along with FPS glitches.

People need to relax. The 1.10 pack development cycle is still early, and honestly we'll be moving to 1.11+ before the landscape here is ever fully stable. The only reason 1.7 was as stable as it was is the fact that development there had such an unusually long time to mature.

If you look at the growing pains from 1.7 when it was first talked about as a new modding scene (from 1.6), the results will look similar. In the beginning, people made the mad rush to the new hotness, only to be scared back to 1.6 by a land of unplayable bugs and lack of content. Once things had a chance to settle, people started to slowly migrate (usually being driven there by lack of mod support on older versions). As more time went by, most of the bugs got squashed, and people stepped up with solutions for the new problems.

Since 1.7, modders had to completely rewrite complete sections of their code to move on to 1.8, only to have to update a short time later to 1.9, then 1.10. Now that things are settling down, packs are actually more playable than they were in the early 1.10 days, only to see that 1.11 is the place to be. On top of that, 1.12 is chugging along in development and more rapid releases scheduled behind it. A source had once said another plateau in development time the likes of 1.6 or 1.7 wasn't to be expected until 1.17, so get used to this being the general state of things for a while.

On the other hand, 1.7 and all it's stability and content are still out there. Sure, you'll miss out on the new things that arise, but you'll be safe from the hassle until things calm down. It's a give and take, but the freedom of choice is all yours.

What @Inaeo said.

Also, remember that with some clients, including Curse/Twitch, nothing is stopping you from being able to run packs of any version from the same place. You CAN have your cake and eat it too :D
