FTB Beyond cant find rock hive

I'm playing FTB Beyond in single player mode. I cant find any rocky bees. I tested the builder/quarry in creative mode to confirm that the builder/quarry will break the rock hive and drop rocky bees. In survival mode, I now have been running massive builder/quarries from level 120 down to bedrock, and have found no rocky bees. Is this broken in world gen? Has it been fixed and I need to generate new chunks? This bee is needed to advance to some of the better bees, so its kind of important for it to work.

Look on the surface in extreme hills biomes. They are no longer buried under ground.
