Hey all, so here's the deal, my friend and another friend, live in the same house, both of them had this issue.

Basically, when my buddy types in the IP, we're fine. But when he hits enter, he crash's. Ipon crashing, he has to delete all Mindcrack files, otherwise the pack won't launch at all. These are the logs he gets upon crashing.
http://pastebin.com/49VQ6aU6

For my server, we've tried a few things, he can join my other servers, all port forwarded, as is my Mindcrack one, those three being, Tekkit, normal Bukkit, and normal Vanilla.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any reason why your friend is 8 Java updates behind? Also could you have your friend provide a ForgeModLoader-client-0.log after reproducing the crash.

This issue happened on in a previous versions of the modpacks. It has been fixed in the most current/recommended versions.
The problem was known, and solved. You need to update.
If you insist on using the outdated version, then using the search function, or looking at the Knowledgebase (available at the help desk) will yield an answer for you.

We have been, we just tried that version once to see if it had anything to do with it.

Read the whole thread before replying please.

I did read it. Try to help yourself by researching the problem before getting mad that people have not fixed your problem for you.
Completely agree with you Ashzification.

I know this is the interweb, and your anon... But would you talk like that to somebody your asking for help in the real world? Try to be polite and respectfull to the people who are helping you OF THEIR OWN FREE TIME AND EFFORT! Just because a day goes by without a response does not mean that nobody is looking into your problem, It just means that nobody has found a solution to it yet. (Or maybe nobody is looking inot it, but still no reason to be rude.)

This happened a lot in a previous version of the modpacks. Try using the recommended version
And here we go, the answer to your question your having. You SAY your actually using the updated version, but we do not know. All we have to go off of (or not go off of) is your log files.

Steps to follow so we can help you.
  1. Backup your FTB folder.
    • Did you get the client? i.e. Your buddy who is having the problem?
    • Did you get the server?
  2. Did I mention Backups?
  3. Delete your FTB folder and FTBLauncher folder
  4. Delete the server Files. All of them
  5. UPDATE JAVA! Get it from here. Update both the computer your playing on AND the server.
    • Install the 32 Bit Java
    • Install the 64 bit Java
    • Restart your computer
  6. Re-download the FTB launcher
  7. Use the recommended version of the pack your trying to play.
    • Download the server files for the recommended version, and install onto your server
    • Start your server
  8. On your friends computer, AFTER JAVA is updated...
    • Download the recommended version, and try to play.

AFTER you do this, if he is still having issues, THEN we might be able to help.

If you are getting leaking worlds on your server causing it to crash, AFTER step #7, disable the three "wirelessredstone" addons as a temp fix till the mod author fix's the problem. ( Not Chickenbones, his mod is not broken. Just that disabeling those three make the world not crash.)

1) Implying i'm mad. 2) I've said it twice, we are using the recommended version.

And to Geek, I'm not speaking of the people here when I say no replies, I'm simply saying theres no professional help on the forums that I've seen, hence why i specified "Devs". And yes, we've done all those things.

1. It's most helpful if the person actually having the problem is the one posting.
2. Your log was an unknown paste ID, therefore, not helpful
3. Did you read the article I sent?

Actually have an update. The now THREE roomates having problems, all have MSI laptops, their other roomate, got on just fine. One of them thinks its a incompatibility with the network card. BUT, he can connect to my tekkit server easily. These are the most recent logs upon crashing. http://pastebin.com/r6PqpK7Y

Logs are located in the main directory of their minecraft installation, if they have no idea how to find that then the easiest way to locate it is by running the FTB launcher, clicking edit modpack, clicking open folder, then going up 1 directory.

They will see a ForgeModLoader-client-0.log and that is what needs to be posted. Make sure he does this after reproducing the crash or we won't have the relevant information.

Please post pastebin for "ForgeModLoader-client-0.log". Please post it AFTER reproducing the crash or we won't have the relevant information. I really want to help, but I really can't without the right tools. YOU have those tools, I need you to share them with me. :)

This log shows your friend deleting an SSP world, creating a new SSP world and then either closing the world normally or having it crash.

Tell him to uninstall ALL instances of Java and install this one. Update their graphics card drivers and finally disable any texture packs that may or may not be in use. If this doesn't help him/them connect to your SMP server then have them post on the forums themselves, it doesn't make any sense for people to be trying to help someone else help someone else. Honestly I think that unless you are standing over their shoulder or physically taking care of the problem yourself... then their problem probably won't ever be taken care of since you can't even rely on them to simply update Java (that's after several supposed requests).

Until they do those things I doubt there is much anyone else can do to help with the situation.

1) Clicking that link gives me a Unathaurized Request.
2)I will talk to him and tell him to delete it all, and download latest.
3)I agree with you, I will force him to make an acc and start posting if the new java dosnt work.
4)I do not think it has anything to do with it, all three of them have the same computer MSI laptop, none of them can get on. Is there any drivers specific to MSi, that wouldnt work with this that anyone knows of? Maybe a internet card incompatibility, somthing with the graphics card maybe?
