Hi everyone !

I play on MindCarck FTB pack and don't get a nice frame rate. I have between less than 10 and 15 FPS which is not payable at all.

I've tried to improve my performances by installing Optifine and messing around a bit with the settings but I didn't end up with a convincing smooth result.

To show you, in vanilla Minecraft, I get just about 30 / 35 FPS.

Detail on my computer
OS: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1(64 bits)

Processor: Intel Pentium CPU G630 @ 2.70GHz 2.70 GHz

Graphic card: Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000

RAM: 6 GB (2 GB by default, added 4 GB in second slot) 3.50 GB allocated to the launcher.

Screen Resolution: 1440 x 900 (pixels)

Java: Java 7

Can someone help me ? I really need help, I love Feed The Beast but I can't play at it anymore because of FPS issues and this makes me very sad.
Thanks for reading my post,
Alcarkse

if you get 30 - 35 FPS on a vanilla instance, then 10 - 15 FPS in a modpack aint that strange. The mods use of extra CPU power / memory, wich offcourse decreases your FPS.

When you say "upgrading your system" you mean, for example, add another graphic card, change the processor, etc?

i refer more to you dualcore CPU and prob the ram modules. Having 6gb ram doesn't mean anything if it's slow ram.
not sure how the graphicscard preforms in other games? if it's decent then you prob don't have to change it. If it's crap then yes you need to change it aswell.

Hmm, have you tried allocating less RAM to the launcher?
I have heard giving it too much may make things worse.

Also I'd recommend changing to Direwolf Pack, seems to be less CPU intensive.
Oh and make sure to disable Xycraft and ExtrabiomesXL, or at least disable the redwood biomes.

As some people told me in another thread:
Due to the way Xycraft's ores are rendered, removing it might actually get you a performance increase.

Xycraft isn't the only taxing mod, it's just the most taxing where ores are concerned. Extra Biomes XL with its huge trees are a worse performance issue in my experience.

But yeah too much RAM allocated can end up slowing it down as well as it waits until all the allotted RAM is used before it dumps it which can cause lag and such. As SilvasRuin said, find what suits your computer best.

Hope that helps! ^^

Do your RAM sticks have even amounts of RAM on them?
You have integrated graphics correct? You may want to look into getting a better graphics card as well.

- I have a total of 6 GB of RAM; 2 GB on the first slot and 4 on the other. So it's not even. Do you think this could affect the performances ?

- Which graphic card would be worth buying for my problem ?

Yes, and I'm not the one to ask about performance for graphics. But I can tell you from experience, integrated graphics provide some pretty crap FPS
